finished the duology.
I love the concept, soulful atmosphere, and eyecatchy style. but the controls, aiming, and puzzles are all terrible and frustrating

I love tank controls, pre rendered backgrounds games of this era but I could never get into this series. It's shit to actually play, and it feels like you gotta "play the one way the devs intended" and you have to figure out that one way the hard way.

The controls absolutely sucked, especially for a couple of timed parts. But other than that I still like these games.

I really like the visual style but I've never played it because impressions always seem mixed on it.

always felt like there were stuck deciding if they wanted a RE game or a tomb raider game and just toed the line instead of picking (further reinforced by the fact that the few clips of gameplay from the canceled game characters have combos and shit like an action game). That said as OP said the atmosphere is great and I love how the plot ties into mysticism.
