What should I know before playing the Shenmue remasters?
Remasters suck, you have to play the original on Dreamcast.

>>12086065i played the first oneget the trainer that lets you skip time, the game is a chore where you have to do tasks to advance the story but they make require you to wait till certain time of the day or it directly tells you to go the next day. theres no way to pass time in game nor anything really of substance to do in the meanwhile , 1 day is almost an hour. It might have been ahead of its time back in the day but it sucks

>>12086156This ruins the game as other anons have said. Speeding up time like every other game completely kills the intended vibe of Shenmue. You were supposed to move around the world exploring it and just messing around in general doing mundane things. Its why the games ended up being so memorable.

In Shenmue 1, you can get through every single fight in the game with either spamming Elbow Assault or Crawl Cyclone. Those are the only two moves worth training.In Shenmue 2, you can get through every single fight in the game by mashing the X button. Doing combos is actually suboptimal because the camera will spastically move around unlike in 1, making inputs more difficult because they are direction-based.In Shenmue 2, you will need to get several thousand dollars to get through the story. The best way to do this is by gambling, do not waste your time working.
