I like how SNES boxes had a little blurb on the front of the box.
>>
>>12086375
I liked Mario is Missing!
>>
>>12086375
I had Mario's Time Machine on NES.
>>
>>12086375
the fuck was nintendo thinking?
>>
>>12086375
this is actually the first official time that mario is shown with his now correct blue suspenders over red shirt instead of red suspenders over blue shirt
>>
>>12086375
There's a good game trapped in that mediocre game. The generic Asian music is also really comfy. It would be neat if there was a SMW romhack that used assets from this game where the levels are based on real world locations sort of like Rampage and Serious Sam.

Renting this game as a kid taught me to be much more careful about how I spend money.
>>
NoA were criminals
>>
I rented this once and liked it just barely enough to finish it. The music carried it I guess.
>>
>mom can I save the princess?
>no we have princess at home
>the princess at home:
>>
>>12086375
I had that one. Obviously lousy but I somehow liked it because I was a little nerd and I liked edutainment slop. The real Mario games were too hard for me at that age anyway.
>>
>>12086375
>buddy's parents got him a SNES at a yard sale
>we boot this up, no idea what it is
>very confused at first, what the fuck is happening?
>ohhh it's a geography game
Ended up playing it for a few hours. Had a lot of fun actually.

yeah, I imagine I would've liked it well enough as a kid
I had a lot of fun with the game in encarta, for instance
>>
>>12086375
>mario is missing (from your game collection)
>>
>>12087339
I recently sold it to make rent, apparently it's one of the rarest NES games and was worth quite a bit.
>>
>>12087339
Also this might explain my obsession with Bach

Same. I was absolutely convinced that I had found a secret sequel to SMW until I got home.

Thank you Nintendo Seal of Quality(TM)

>Luigi needs YOU
>and how!
the fuck is that supposed to mean?
>>
>>12088643
You should ask him when he gets out
>>
>>12088643
"And how" means "It's really true!" It's a way to express additional emphasis.

>She looks gorgeous in that dress!
>And how!
Imagine two people commenting, with the first person making the initial statement and the second person agreeing with the statement.
>>
>>12086375
This was great, though. Just, uh... in a shitty way. It's an acquired taste.
>T-thanks, mom.
You were a good kid.
>>
>>12090401
>"And how" means "It's really true!"
in what language? because it doesn't mean that in english
>>
>>12090432
>and how!
>Emphatically so. This idiom is an interjection used to stress agreement, as in Did you enjoy the play?—And how! it was wonderful. It probably originated as a direct translation of the German Und wie! [1920s]
https://www.dictionary.com/browse/and-how
Maybe you needed to read old Archie comics as a kid to get it
>>

>Luigi needs YOU
>and how!
but who was how??

I never owned it physically but I did play it as part of a big ROM collection my dad had when I was a kid. Never got far because I couldn't fully read yet but the museum itself always stuck in my head too and is still one of the first things I think of when I think of the NES (or rather, what I thought it looked like as a kid since looking at it now it's fuck ugly)
>>
I remember when it first came out the local video rental place never had it available. Not enough people read reviews back then.

>tfw finally rent new mario game
>it has nothing to do with mario
>>
I actually liked this, and I wanted to play Mario's Time Machine as well, but the controls were aggravating. I'm not even talking about the surfing levels (which were also dumb), but the adventure game elements and setting the time machine just felt super cumbersome.

>tfw finally rent new mario game

He's missing, duh!
>>
Yeah?
Why?
>>
>>12086375
I only found out about this game's existence like 15 years ago because of Irate Gamer
>>
>>12086375
Fun fact: Weegee came from the DOS version of this game.
>>
>>12086375
I'm not going to pretend this is a great game but it's probably the best of the Mario edutainment titles. It also has some fun world music remixes of SMW songs. I also like how the city maps are laid out in SMW style.

It's better than Mario's Time Machine at any rate which has you doing literal fucking homework to proceed.
>>
This game is relaxing. The SNES version is far and away the best. It is fun for when you want I mindlessly run around and just play a game without thinking too much which I guess is kind of ironic. The music is great. I have this on my Miyoo Mini and play it from time to time.

What happens every four years during summer, anon?
>>
>>12086375
>be me
>be small
>big cousin takes me to rent a game
>ask him about this
>oh yeah I played that anon
>how does Bowser keep him hostage if he’s fighting Luigi
>he force feeds him pasta until he gets fat and can’t run away
>wait but then how does he escape once Luigi finds him
>he just runs around for five minutes to burn it off
True story. Believed it for years until I looked it up because why would you tell such a stupid lie. I have no idea why you’d lie to a kid like that.
>>
>>12090432
Come on anon, you should at least be fluent in ONE language.
>>
>>12086375
>b-but I thought you like Mario

German: "und wie!!"

>>
>>12090432
Maybe go back to speaking your own language :)
>>
Did he find Mario or was this his last game appearance?
>>
>>12092510
he replaced him with his twin brother fredo
>>
>>12090432
bro it’s okay to not be a native speaker of English, but don’t go on the Internet and argue about how to speak English with people who are
>>
>>12090432
It's kind of an old timey thing to say. Doesn't help that the blurb on the boxart uses it in a confusing way.
>>
>>12091914
I know yes but my point is that it's an educational game for children and even if the location is an olympic stadium, it doesn't directly say why.
Kids are stupid and you have to be explicit.

Also the Japanese section doesn't actually tell you why 1192 is an important year in Japanese history, just that it was included in the range in picrel.
>>
>>12086375
So many children were taught a life lesson renting this piece of shit from Blockbuster just because it had Mario on it.
>>
>>12090432
everyone point and laugh at this guy whos never watched The Three Stooges
>>

Based self-assured tard
