This would be convenient for any games that could hog an entire memory card, but I can't think of anything other than Everquest Online Adventures that could seriously fill 8mb of save data.

FYI, those exist because they provide rigidity and support to the cases so they do no bend and crack.There was never any intention of you actually placing cards into them, they just needed something rigid and structurally easy to make in that open space inside the case plastic.

Most of the time, it was 2 or 3 some giant games needed a dedicated memory card. This is why they had a place to write on so you could label your cards.
