>update: functionality update
>update: think it’s out of “beta” now

Nice
I've always liked Guest Advanced because it's generally not eye-rapey and the customization is great

My shader for 480i content (it's nice for LRPS2), based on royale-fast: https://files.catbox.moe/05nqdg.slangp

No screenshots because you know the deal with interlaced signals. Just try it.

Name it whatever.slangp and put it in the shaders root directory

you can make a gif or high quality webm.
>>
>>12097765
Even a 5 sec webm at maxed out settings (to fit 4chan limits) looks butchered due to the interlaced scanlines effect

Best I can do is this https://files.catbox.moe/0v5cda.webm

Can be made sharper via shader settings by setting "horiz filter" to 0.
>>
>>12097809
looks alright. blurriness is fine, it needs to be there to soften the image like a crt. i'm not convinced by 100% scanlines, prefer something around 33%, but that's just me.
thanks for the demonstration.
>>
>>12097809
this is what retards who doesnt know what crt shaders does doesnt understand, they think a screenshot is enough.

also your webm is good besides 4chins retarded compression.
but tone down the scanlines a bit, it looks like PVMeme
>>
>>12097823
>>12097851
That's just my taste.
You can achieve less noticeable scanlines by playing with the settings (although royale's are a bit unclear, if you have a specific question, ask me, even though some settings are still a mystery to me).
Also setting the shader to a lower TVL mask helps with hiding the scanlines.
>>
>>12097872
just tone down but is your preference.
in any case, i think i will pester guest about adding a option for reshade and RA for a proper CRT monitor setting as DgVoodoo2 does as the one Staging uses
>>
A modification of crt-royale-xm29plus (I like this palette a lot even though I know it's not to everyone's taste) for 240p: https://files.catbox.moe/d3unha.slangp

I have absolutely no idea what a PC-98 monitor looks like, but with the PC CRT shader I use, the games look like this (using a screenshot I found online and then slapped the shader on top)

Dgvoodoo2's CRT mode does well to emulate PC Monitors of the late 90's
Reshade is just to add glow or color

I don't understand. Do you mean the name of the file? it's randomized. Just rename the shader to whatever you want to.

Sonkuns shaders. Later i figured out how to put a sega controller overlay on retroarch.
Those shaders are great. I really like that slot mask look. Its very authentic looking to the CTRs we used to play on.

crt-royale-xm29plus is a good choice. If you want to go deeper tweak the Guest shaders.

No
>>12103170
If you're on Windows, use ShaderGlass
>>
>>12103450
The problem with shader glass is that you cant take screenshots with it, and it still too janky
Also Dolphin doesnt work with DgVoodoo2 directx stuff, for pure 480p CRT monitor mode that Dgvoodoo2 has

Both are gay. Sonkun's just some overhyped dude making GA's presets, while standard default GA settings aren't nothing special. Best is to be your own man and tweak your own settings. It's fun and rewarding to learn the stuff too, and in the end you can fine-tune the shaders to your exact taste instead of depending on others.

so sonkun preset has the best sonic water test it seems but it changes colors too much for sotn
for sotn I prefer the blurrier crt royale but its also a bit too dark
I like to use guest advanced hd as default for all games if I cant be bothered
>>
>>12104013
No specific path? Like putting them in the crt folder or preset or ntsc?
>>
>>12104307
just put at the root shaders folder anon, it will load all you need out of box

>1080p 60hz ips (i am here)
>1440p 180hz va miniled with rgb subpixels (pic related)
>4k 120hz oled
is 1440p good enough? assume going from 1080p to 1440p will feel more impactful than 1440p to 4k and the Q27G40XMN miniled seems to have cyber's seal of approval based on the rtings review so I'm leaning towards that over shelling out for an oled.
