I think the Dreamcast DoA looks better than the PS2 version
>>12096876doa2 le was the best version toohttps://youtu.be/l0Fub2y3KH4
>>12096825we can't have DOA threads on /vr/ because /vr/ doesn't play DOA seriously
>>12098382I play it for the plots
>>12098394I play for kasumi’s ass
>>12096825Loved this gamehonestly the best nostalgia
Something I like about the old DOAs compared to other 3d fighters (I guess virtua fighter fits too, which makes sense) is that it feels the most grounded. Outside of a couple of things the ninjas can do there aren't any powers or robots, there's no jumping or bars or ultimate attacks etc. It's the fighting game that actually feels closest to playing a kung fu flick.
>>12100687virtua fighter?
RIP Itagaki-san.
>>12100687>>12101720DOA has always been basically a romhack of VF
>>12096825Is it ever explained why Ryu doesn't just resolve every issue in the DOA series in like a single afternoon?
>>12102686Not his problem
>>12101672I eat ass
>>12100687>there's no jumping or bars or ultimate attacks etcBecause you are thinking in games 20 years old. By then those gimmicks weren't popular. Look how grounded tekken 4, 5 and 6 were too.DoA6 had fatal rush and break gauge.
>>12102686he walked in, killed tengu and fucking left
Nobody actually thought this series was anything but mediocre right?
https://youtu.be/-oCmJk6O1qkHad to wait an hour and a ton of buffering to watch the trailer to this back in 03
>>12103808Fighting games were still popular in the mainstream, vidya magazines were still in their 90s attitude phase and loved the over the top action and fanservice. The games looked fantastic and it was FUN play with your friends.Result?. DoA1 and 2 sold millions and Microsoft thought they were a point of entry to the japanese market. So no, no one thought the series was mediocre.
>>12103808>no esport cuckery = mediocrehow about you maxlevel yourself right now?
>>12103825DoA1 didn't sell a million. It sold 280k on PS1 and 161k on Saturn.
>>12105738Cram it, poofter!
