what can you tell me about this game /vr/ ?never heard of it even here but looks interesting.
>>12103309Looks like a Polish Baldur's Gate.
>>12103357i think its german.
>>12103738Probably very good then. All the best PC games are German
>>12103742name 5.
>>12104186Forklift SimulatorDas KrakenwarffenPanzerfaust das JudenJa! Schulrker Ja! FickerFuhrer Simulator
>>12104207You expect me to believe forklift simulator is a real game?
>>12104186I wouldn't say they are the best PC game makers, but Germans had some solid computer RPGs.Gothic 1, 2Realms of Arkania 1, 2, and 3That's five.
>>12104384oh,had no idea realms of arkania was german, been meaning to try it but if i remember correctly the manual overloaded me with info so i keep for when im more in the mood for that.
>>12104443It's made by Germans and based on a German tabletop system called The Dark Eye. It's not a "light" RPG.
>>12104443>>12104746what makes RoA tricky is that the trilogy ported the entire skillset from the tabletop and a lot of those skills are never checked in the games. so the manual is actually misleading, it's better to read a guide to see which skills are useless. good games though.
>>12104384>he didn't just post settlers 1-5
>>12104929Yeah, the devs started making the game by first translating every tabletop rule to a game engine. The game was so accurate to 2nd edition The Dark Eye that I literally used to take the included manual and map with me to tabletop games because it made an excellent short reference book for the game rules.
>>12103309It's a game with gore and soul. Or at least "a" soul.
>>12104961I-I've never played them...
>>12104965even has all the staff evolution autism
>>12104929>>12104965I played Star Trail in English with no knowledge of the tabletop system. I didn't even know it was a sequel until the first scene with the David Bowie elf because the box had no indication that it was one. Loved the game though, such a cool adventuring simulation with the map travel.
>>12105017fun fact, Guido Henkel who worked on the RoA games later went to Black Isle Studios and was a producer on Planescape Torment
>>12105018Yep, he was the box art model. Very familiar with the trilogy now and also enjoyed the Drakensang games, but at the time it was a struggle to understand them. Luckily I was a stubborn kid.
>>12104371
>>12105992I've always wondered who these games were for.
>>12104929Why the fuck did game devs in the 90s do things like this?
>>12106574Picrel's excuse was that it doubled as a character creator for the pen & paper RPG
>>12106574Because every game is better with a 'carouse' skill
>>12104929oh i see, good to know for the skills that are useless i will remember to look it up before i play.
