Honestly, it's not as good as the NES, but it's definitely underrated, it has some serious gems.
>>12104479Such as?
>>12104479The only people I knew who had Master Systems were literal poorfags.
we had a master system 2 at one point, played the shit out of wonder boy 3 on it and sonic, though it's a pain in the ass to get those to work on modern TV's
>>12104479the hardware is better, and can do a real yellow, but the software is lacking>>12104481Phantasy Star is pretty good.
>>12104658it was so irrelevant i never even heard of it until the 2000s. It's why everyone called Genesis just "Sega" and everyone always knew exactly which system they were talking about
>>12104479Should've launched the international model with the YM2413 as standard.
>no pause button on the controllerSeriously, why did they do this
>>12104481>mogs the entire nes libraryamerifags have the same knee jerk reaction when they hear "master system" as when they hear "communism", they couldn't tell you shit about it but boy do they hate it
>mogs the nes version
>colors are for babies
>>12104481The Obligatory:> Phantasy Star> Wonder Boy 3> 8-bit SonicsLesser known greats:> Miracle Warriors> Rastan> Lord of the Sword> Golvellius: The Valley of Doom> Master of Darkness> Psycho Fox> Psychic WorldAnd my favourite port of Ys the Vanished Omens (I don't know why either)
>>12104848so kids had a convenient excuse when their parents told them to stop playing and do homework/eat dinner/whatever
>>12104848>>12105313nvm i'm fucking retarded and going senile
>>12104481Phantasy Star, the list goes on>>12105158This is a good game, could almost be Ninja Gaiden 4 even though it becomes a joke once you trigger the ninpo overflow glitch
>no Dracula's Curse>no Contra or Super C>no Gremlins 2>no V.I.C.E. Project Doom>no Rescue : The Embassy Mission>no Ducktales or Ducktales 2>no Little Samson>no Gun-Nac>no Lone Ranger>no Action In New York>no Solstice>no Shadowgate, Déjà Vu, or Uninvited>no Arkanoid>no Wizards & Warriors>no Snake's RevengeHmm.What's some stuff which the Master System has which works as counterparts for any of these? The Genesis kicks ass six ways from Sunday, so I'm gonna assume that the Master System also has to kick at least A LITTLE ass too, but I'm not closely familiar with it.
>>12105289The list goes on…
i thought this was called something else
>>12104479Well, it's a system, of sorts.
>>12104848It's indirectly wired in as a hardware interrupt. While it's a hack, having a button on the console that tells the CPU to fuck off and do something else is pretty funny.
>>12105289No Ultima IV?
>>12104848If you're gonna pause, it means you have to get up anyways.
>>12106213While I think it’s the best version, it’s not an exclusive. A shame we never got 1-3.
>>12105516That's due to Nintendo having a publisher exclusivity clause when licencing games for the NES.
>>12106297youre supposed to ignore your game and hit the pause button on the way out to the restroom
>>12107261It was only for a couple years as far as I remember, and except for Hudson, the Famicom didn’t really start getting third-party games until after the Mark III dropped. It just wasn’t worth making games for the Master System outside of EU.
>>12106360>While I think it’s the best version, it’s not an exclusive. But, if it's the flagship version, shouldn't it be considered anyway? Regardless of exclusivity?
>>12107348I made that initial post, and to be honest with you I don't care that much for Ultima (except for Ultima Underworld I guess). I was just listing games I liked to play.
>>12105156>Defending communism at /vr/Back to bluesky, commie tranny
>>12109007thank you for proving my point, amerifag
