what are the best racing games that dont rely on speed but more on technique and style?Buggy Boy is a classic for me, pretty chilled gameplay but really smooth and I need more. what are your favorites /vr/?https://youtu.be/GAE5n6viTi0?si=8vWl9FLA5dbiIURf
Kikstart 2 on the Commodore 64 especially with a friend, really brilliant course design and gets extra bonus points because you can design your own
a serious driving simulator? in the arcades? the world just wasn't ready
club drive requires a ton of finesse but that's just to beat a track normally
>>12110926just kidding I would never play that enough to learn how to play it well
bumping because of the local lolcow
>>12113331this desu senpai
Ivan 'Ironman' Stewart's Super Off Road Racing.slow but super intense
>>12109008>the world just wasn't readyespecially the hardware
>>12108970Check out Street Rod for DOS. Get to wrench on your car and race or drag. Sometimes for pink slips. Really fun game. Overall not 'fast' and really depends on your parts and how you tune it up.
>>12108970aren't most rally games "slow racers"?
>>12114202I had the Atari ST port of this, ran at like.. 1fps.shit was radical
Buggy
>>12114202>>12115479its great on Mame now, solid 60 FPS
Enduro racer>>12114202It runs ok, I'll take 25-30 fps considering how ahead of its time it was
>>12115479Rally is very fast, you just can't do f1 speeds on gravel + narrow road
Pro Mountain Biker on the Atari 800
Monaco gp if it counts (the old ttl arcade game or the saturn port)
Has anyone here made any progress in Outrun 2019? I'm okay at normal Outrun, both the genesis and arcade version, but 2019 has the floating track gimmick from Race Drivin and it always stops me from getting very far.Sega Retro says the original Japanese release caps your speed at 200mph~ with the US release letting you go 3x that fast, so I'm wondering if the game is more playable with the speed cap and if the JP version gives you more time to compensate, or if it's just a difference in numbers displayed on screen.
any game with BMX in it
>>12117469but I hate those
>>12117151The fucking daddy mack. Unsure I would call it slow, the object is to go as fast as you damn well can, find hidden jet shit so you can basically fly, and keep your timer topped up. Never did work out what the minibikes did, just there to look cool as you usually find them in the sky/ramping high off stuff. 2/Crazy Bikers is more of the same in color with a really bassy soundtrack for a GBC game, full of bangers. The GBA one's whole 'speed up the game when you use nitros' thing bugged me, but it's okay. Nitros don't feel like the bit of extra speed/lift they should be, and make the game a bit out of control when it's meant to be about ramp/jump finesse.
