Not retro but I'm playing the one on the wii (Adventure Island Beginnings) and its a fine game, not big on the upgrade system but it plays well

Do you think a 3D version of Adventure Island would have worked? I feel like it would have been more like Crash Bandicoot and Pepsi Man if it had existed. On the other hand, I always found it odd that Hudson insisted on taking inspiration from the first game while forgetting the ideas implemented in some of the franchise's best titles.
