The going rate for Magic Knight on Saturn is $1,000. Is it actually worth playing or is it generic grog?
>>12114736It's a decent Zelda-like with a great soundtrack, but it's not worth anywhere near $1000.I suppose it's going for that much since it's the last Saturn game released in North America and is fairly rare.
>>12114736>working designsWhata shame
>>12114813>but it's not worth anywhere near $1000.Uh, what game is actually worth 1000$?
>>12114816Your favorite game.
>>12114736It's good, but only a retard would pay more than 50 bucks for a videogame
>>12114835
>>12114816Limitod editions but not this gaem
>>12114839The fact that Ron Gilbert left Lucas because Monkey island was a commercial failure makes that quote extremely ironic
>>12114873What are you talking about? He was still involved with Monkey Island 2.And Monkey Island was not a commercial failure either, it did okay hence an instant sequel.
>>12114736I remember watching the first few episodes of the animated series, and remember Sega was one of its sponsors, but got quickly tired of the monster-of-the-week format. I was sort of desperate for new games at the time for my Saturn, as the US releases were slowing down, so I did get it new for almost $60USD from EB back then. I had already played some of it in Japanese, and it was more of a $40 game as that was more the average price of games for more popular platforms especially since it was an average game to me. I still bit since that was the Working Designs markup which I recognized for their offerings. Given the effort they had put into the game, I can see it. You can always just emulate it to try it out, as I can say it is an easy pass but still a fine offering as a Sega gamble that inevitably and ultimately failed as it was meant to be.
>>12114736I thought it was really linear and kinda boring. If you want zelda on saturn, you are better off with legend of oasis and linkle liver story. I even found shining wisdom to be more enjoyable.
>>12114881My bad, I was talking about the two games as one package. But both games were commercial failures (in America), the reason why it got a sequel is because the adventure division was basically irrelevant in Lucas games (the money was always in star wars) so they had absolute freedom to do what they wanted because nobody at the company cared. And yes, Ron left Lucas because the games sold poorly.
>>12114816A rare arcade cabinet that has been undumped or has a gimmick that's worth experiencing playing with real hardware. That's it.
It's alright, more fun for fans of the show if anything.
>>12114736Why don't you download the iso and try it instead of asking stupid questions?
>>12116325I never watched the show and I still really enjoyed it. It's in my top 3 Saturn games (top 1 being Taromaru).I know Working Designs gets a lot of autistic shit for not providing faithful translations, but the dialogue is fun, unique, and engaging, and I really enjoyed the gameplay. The exploration elements were good, and the boss fights are fun, despite being totally unbalanced/inconsistent.

Everybody that hates soulful designs needs to be killed as soon as possible.
>>12116668I feel like you're shitposting, but I unironically agree
>>12116668I hope so
>>12116707Shibaren the Wandogrer
I got it when I was seven and considered it my favorite game for a year or so after that. And this was 1998, so, stiff competition.
>>12116668victor ireland you will never be soulful
>>12116958I refuse to believe this
>>12118397I get it. It's just a really fun, charming, well-made game. It doesn't really have any flaws. I'm not saying it's perfect, but there's just nothing really inherently wrong with it, and it's really well-made and fun
