The rusty meat aesthetic is too overdone at this point, especially since the environment itself is never a hazard, merely another place you explore. To do the concept justice, the level needs to be hostile and actively trying to kill you. Stuff like passages closing up around you to crush you, spikes jutting out of the wall spraying digestive juices at you, thorny tendrils reaching out to grab you and flay your flesh.
