What's the best Star Trek game?
>>
What’s wrong with his nose?

I think they just drew half his face and then mirrored it for the other half

Why would they do that would it even save memory?

That's clearly a photo.

Yes that's is clearly whats going on.
>>12122469
Yes, they just mirror the pixels instead of having to store the whole other half of his head. Back then, every byte was precious.

Patrick Stewart’s face is not that symmetrical.

I actually somehow 100%'d that game as a kid despite thinking it was shit even back then. Went back a few years ago and I couldn't even play it for more than 3 minutes without vomiting.

I've been watching TNG after seeing a few episodes of SNW and Discovery, and it's so goddamn kino, leagues apart from everything else. I don't know why I had this image of TNG being like the original series and thinking "this shit is way too camp, like Adam West's Batman"
>>
>>12125605
Have you not watched TOS? It's really not very camp outside of a few episodes. Go watch The Doomsday Machine if you don't believe me.

(Discovery is garbage IMO, SNW is kinda shitty but only gets about as stupid as Voyager did) Check out DS9 if you like the serious stuff, it's fantastic.
>>
>>12122405
This game had an insanely detailed database. I remember spending hours reading all the entries.

Check out Balance of Terror, The City on the Edge of Forever and The Trouble with Tribbles and you'll get an idea what most of the show will be like. Balance is my favorite overall. The one thing that produces the camp is the low budget. Other than that it was surprisingly good when i started watching all of it some 7 years ago.
>>
>>12125605
didn't have a tv as a kid, watched an episode of tng at a friend's and told him it rocked
went there again and he showed me tos not knowing the difference and i thought it totally sucked
>>
>>12125921
Makes sense, budget, special effects, and production quality for TNG was much higher, which kids will pick up on. If you can see past that surface stuff, TOS has a lot going for it.
In particular, the chemistry between Kirk, Spock, and McCoy is something later Treks have struggled to replicate.
>>
>>12122469
It saves quite a bit of memory actually, especially since the image is dithered and thus has less reusable areas.
>>
>>12126714
Also, it was probably done at the last minute to trim the game back to 16M

Based opinion. I also recommend DS9, first season is a bit rough but stick with it. Are there any good DS9 games?

>SNW is kinda shitty but only gets about as stupid as Voyager did
Voyager gets a lot of hate in the community, but after actually sitting through all of it recently, it's severly overhated. The premise gets thrown out of the window pretty early on, which is where a lot of the stupidity stems from, but it has so many good "syndication" episodes which you can just put on without much context. and 7of9 gets wrongly accused of being sorely coombait, maybe that was initially the idea, but the characters is really good, as all slightly autistic/robotic characters are in Trek. And i dont even hate Neelix, they didnt give Ethan Phillips enough emotional moments, because he can carry intensity. When Tuvok busts a move for Neelix at his farewell, i legit started sobbing like a faggot.

I digress. all i want to say is that Voyager isnt nearly as stupid as Nu-Trek, just a little bit here and there.
>>
>>12126875
Would have been nice to have more emotional Neelix moments and less of the doctor crying about something.

>kess, kess! I used your likeness in my program what its like to have a family, and now i am experiencing... erectile dysfunction and my mothrr in law is riding my ass like there is nooo tomorrow and now i want to have our son circumcised and-beep doctor to the bridge to take over all duties!
>>
>>12123225
Yeah I realized that, there's just some slight touch ups to give him the collar of the later season uniforms and to sorta beef him up a little, Stewart started hitting the gym at some point during TNG
>>
>>12126875
I sort of agree. Nu-Trek absolutely makes Voyager look good.

But conversely, coming off of DS9 makes Voyager look terrible. It has some incredibly dumb episodes, but has some really good ones too.
>>
>>12126924
>Would have been nice to have more emotional Neelix moments and less of the doctor crying about something.
seriously. the episode where he died and is brought back only to realize there is no afterlife really underlines that neelix doesnt have to be goofy all the time. and the doctor also has some good emotional moments, especially with seven, but he wasnt given enough to work with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGpLrGOEI3Y
>>
>>12126947
>But conversely, coming off of DS9 makes Voyager look terrible
to a degree. DS9 has some awfully sloppy ending arcs. The political/war stuff is top notch, the bajoran deity shit feels like an afterthought.
>>
>>12126961
>the bajoran deity shit feels like an afterthought
It's from the pilot episode.

>>12122697
>25th Anniversary
Correct answer.
>>
>>12127012
>It's from the pilot episode.
i know, but its obviously one of the elements they took from B5 and havent developed much beyond the initial idea. precursor aliens and godhood is an interesting theme to explore, it just falls short by the end.
>>
>>12125267
It's baldkino for sure.

25th Anniversary, followed by Rites and A Final Unity

>>12127017
They should’ve just done like sg1 did in s8 and had an entire 90 minute episode devoted to wrapping up various plot lines accumulated over the years.
