Haven't played 2 yet but 1 has this terrible cycle of wander around randomly generated dungeon for levels/recruits, fuse, wander around dungeon again for more levels because your team is level 1 hatchlings, tournament, do it all over again with "new" dungeons. It's a spinoff that tries to be like mainline but without the good shit from mainline.
