The TimeSplitters series turned 25 years old this week. Thank, you Free Radical Design, for creating the greatest FPS franchise ever -- and for a quarter century of cherished memories. Cheers.

Playing the first one on ps4

Is it normal that aiming feels like shit? Im used to fps on mouse but holy shit aiming a sniper is basically impossible in this game
>>
>>12129187
You'll get better at it. Or maybe not, I played it on a PS2 and got very good at it. Cleared every stage on hard and had an awesome time doing it.

It uses the same style of moving-reticule aiming as Goldeneye, with the benefit of two sticks. Input lag from emulation doesn't help. Truthfully though, you're a PS4 golem so there's a 99% chance you just suck at video games to begin with. If it's any consolation, the third game adopts a standard Halo-style modern control scheme (although it still has the option to use moving reticule if you so choose).

Frankly though, anybody who's actually good at TS1 does little or no hard aiming to begin with. It's never necessary, the meta is blasting through the levels as quickly as possible. That changes in TS2 a bit, but I digress.

thought the same when i played ts1 on ps2 for the first time this year, but i got used to it and loved the game enough to 100% it. it plays like goldeneye like the anons say above, just look in the direction of the enemies, shoot, and the aim assist will take care of the rest lol

oh and have fun completing that shitty zombies mansion level on hard if you can't aim and want 100%.
that level took me hours to beat.

>on ps4
how? also yeah it takes time to adjust to like others said
>>
>>12129230
They put the games on PS4. 10 bucks each which is a shit price for what you get with the first one.

you can buy emulated versions on the newer consoles. ps4/5 has all 3 games, xbone/sx has 2 and fp

>friend comes over one day with a copy of TS2 he rented from Blockbuster
>take one look at the cover and decide that it's probably shit
>play Melee for a few hours
>he keeps begging me to give it a try
>begrudgingly agree
>30 minutes later I'm in love
>we play all night
>bought my own copy as quickly as possible a week or two later
First game I ever bought with my own money. I'll never forget my parents driving us down to some restaurant one day and begging them to drop me off at the mall for 10 minutes so I could buy TS2. Bought TSFP in 2005, went back and played TS1 later on. Been playing these games for 23 years now.

100%'d all three, made hundreds of maps and swapped them my buddy, had tons of great sleepovers spent playing with friends, used to browse the FRD homepage and read R-One-Oh-Seven's cheeky messages every month, spent almost a decade on timesplittersportal.com forums before it shut down. I even have fond memories of staying up late at night taking care of my infant son while playing TS2 in the dark and making shitty frozen shrimp shumai and watching Full Metal Alchemist in-between. A few years later he was sitting there watching me play, then he was playing the games himself, now I've got two sons that play together. I can't say there are many games that have legitimately changed my life, but TimeSplitters did. It never felt like a waste, I've loved it every second. Amazing series. Man, how time flies...

Good game but I can't get anyone to play with me...

TS is the ultimate neet shooter. You don't need friends.

Tinesplitters started lifelong friendships for me

What? The game is all about multiplayer. Single player was an after thought until FP, and they did take out about of the challenge stuff from 2 but it has online multiplayer.

Every multiplayer mode has a bot option, even if you do have a friend over and want to be on a team with them fighting bots, and im pretty sure you can do 1 human/bot vs 1 human/bot teams. Its like the smash bros of console fps.

uncles mate had games that had "fell off a truck" and he offered us TS2 for £10 in 2003.
>>

>10 bucks each
They're regularly on sale for 75% off, so anyone wanting to buy them might be better off waiting a bit
>>

Excited for the multiplayer to return for TS3 on original xbox

I remember having so many great memories of playing assault online back in the day. MS really should have never shut down the official servers or allowed people to port it over to the newer consoles to host games.

got timesplitters 2 as a gift, fell in love with the unique cast of characters and variety of settings. also liked how easier difficulties removed certain objectives/reduced how much you see of the level. i think by the time i did the notre dame level and had to save those tied up maiden whores from the evil priest (who apparently rapes/tortures/murders them as sacrifices)

got FP upon release, loved it equally but for different reasons. still care immensely for both games. ts1 isn't bad by any means but i didn't play it back in the day so i have no nostalgic attachment
