Anyone have any favorites, or recommendations. Are any of them superior to the originals or are they just emulation? Only recently learned about these and was curious what VR thought about them.

Mostly the early 3D ones are kinda crap. The later ones are really good. I'm sure you can still have fun with Vol. 15, 6, 8, and 9. M2 got involved with volume 20 and up and made some of the best sets with my favorites being Virtual-On and SDI&Quartet.

The music from the 2500 series commercial lives rent free in my head, and I haven't been able to find the video again.

Panzer Dragoon is fine, original devs worked on it, have Pandora's Box extras and the arranged mode with bit of better textures though there's also saturn mode with all the pixelated textures.
Some visual effects are absent but mostly is a faithful port/"remaster" of the game, better than the western remake for sure.
Probably the actual best ones are the M2 developer ones? Anyone knows if Gunstar Heroes sega ages is good?
M2's 3DS port was great.

How do you feel about the dynamite one? And do you need to be able to understand Japanese to play it? I wish they had brought these to the US, I grew up on Nintendo and Genesis w Genesis taking up most of my game in the 90s until my buddy got a 64 sometime around 97. These probably would’ve been on my radar as I was a lot of retro on my modded Xbox at the time they were releasing. Feel like it was a big missed opportunity to just do some basic bitch translation to English and have a huge market in America where the Genesis was waaaaay more popular. I know it focuses on master system games too but still, the US, you would think, would be the ideal place for ports of a system they would have been primed like me at 18-22 in that era for nostalgia baiting w these games.

Give the Gunstar Heroes one a try. It not only has Alien Soldier and Dynamite Headdy, but also the Game Gear port of Gunstar Heroes.

Any differences with just playing the original versions?

The only japanese thing that would be "hard" are the QTE since it states Punch/Kick in katakana really fast.

Not really, they replicated the feeling of the originals quite well, but they even added a beta of the GameGear edition in as well. Sega was quite committed to reproducing the classic feeling as to even include a pin for Phantasy Star as they did with the promotion of RPGs on the Mega Drive having pins too.

Oh sick it’s marble counter guy
>>
>>12132000
I may be okay w that. Studied intro to Japanese in college and we learned the basics of Hiragana and Katakana so it may not be to big a stretch as long as it’s the same characters over and over. Looks like emulation is on the table, copies are like 80 dollars, furthering my belief they should’ve been translated and ported to America

Oh neat it's that guy that hoards COUNTERfit games and pretends they're real.
Have you ever got any real consoles to play on your CRT or are you still just as retarded and using your retron 5 bullshit?
>>
>>12132193
Even if he is doing that… damn I respect the commitment to it.

Looked into Dynamite Deka and wow, why the hell didn’t they port that. Me and my group of nerds would’ve loved that. We grew up on streets of rage 2 and Fighting Force just didn’t fill the void.

The music for PS2 Alien Soldier sounds nowhere near as good as the Mega Drive version. But it has a cool video of a developer run on the disc. No real reason to check it out otherwise.

Here's more counterfeits from his collection. Why someone would hoard fakes like that, I don't know. It doesn't make any sense.
>>
>>12133169
I also still have old bootleg movies and games.
They are vestiges of a different era, a different world.

Literally not. Must be sad to be you.
