I miss Splinter Cell so much, bros.
>>
how many splinter cell games does one need

how many are enough

how many
>>
>>12131209
Well, there's only 3, so...
>>
I miss high-tech stealth with good production values in general. It was my favorite genre but one can only replay SC and MGS so much

I don't. Splinter Cell was always the poor man's Metal Gear. Hideo Kojima was a genius who knew how to tell a compelling narrative about Americans and their corruption. Ubisoft didn't get that memo and instead decided to go full "America, Fuck Yeah!" with these propaganda ridden games. Of course, Tom Clancy only exploded in popularity after 9/11, where every American became some zealous patriot, feeding into these games like pigs to slop.

Give Second Sight a try. It's not as much of a muh military man sneaker, but it has all the same stealth-leaning-takedowns-tranq gun-crawling through vent shafts goodness and with a much more smooth and approachable control scheme IMO. The game is very interactive -- there's a full physics system and even has some neat stuff like computer terminals you can find that let you control security cameras, read peoples' emails, go into chatrooms, etc. Very soulful game and the atmosphere is off the charts. Highly recommended.

Anon, the last SC was in 2013. Metal Gear's last game was 2015.
>>
>>12131197
Which of these beloved stealth franchises got rebooted and raped in the 2010s, dumbing them down so they become unrecognizable in honor of the fans. Is it:

A: Hitman
B: Splinter Cell
C: Thief
D: Metal Gear Solid
>>
>>12131494
It happened on some Ghost Recon Wildlands DLC featuring Fisher

>Splinter Cell was always the poor man's Metal Gear. Hideo Kojima was a genius

Kojima is a hack and Metal Gear is an infantile crap for little fart huffing fags.
>>
>>12131498
It was nice that they brought back Ironside for that.
>>
>>12131308
There's also one for JME.
>>
>>12131496
Metal Gear Solid was always retarded and Kojimbodrones are the most retarded fans on the planet for thinking otherwise.
>>
>>12131197
Did you play OG xbox version of DA? No, GC and PS2 a shit
Did you play the coop missions of CT and DA?
Did you play the DLC coop missions of CT?
Did you play the bonus missions of 6th gen DA?
>>
>>12132235
That's the idea, though. To have retarded plot so the player constantly wonders "what kind of stuff will he come up with next?"
>>
>>12131467
>third worldist is also a movieslop enjoyer

Pottery
>>
>>12131470
I second 2nd Sight, pretty good story too; and as anon said, great atmosphere, especially for these chilly Autumn months
>>
>MGS and Splinter Cell devs respect each other so much that they canonize each other's games as being in the same universe
>Fans of both games fling shit at each other like two tribes of monkeys
>>
>>12132780
Well yeah, they’re two different genres of game.

One is a stealth/action game and the other is movieslop.
>>
>>12132780
Well yeah, they're two completely different franchises.

One is a beloved series and is regarded as some of the best games ever made and the other is American propaganda that was only popular on the dudebro console.
>>
>>12132780
this shit is why nobody likes gamers
>>
>>12132821
>and the other is
Chaos Theory which is considered one of the most well-made stealth games ever made, that to this day we can't seem to make stealth mechanics half as good as it.
>>
>>12132780
It was a cute little nod

>sam fisher with his little frosted on sims 3 ass beard: "woah.. so it's... only me..." before disappearing for another half-decade of no games
>>
Apparently, they're remaking the first game. Will be worse than Blacklist, I bet. For all the shit it got from the fanbase, it was at least an honest attempt to bring the series back, at least gameplay-wise.

>>12132309 I played all the games on PC. What did I miss? Are the CT DLC co-op missions platform-exclusive? We played co-op on PCSX2 and didn't see them. PC doesn't have split screen, sadly.
>>
>>12131197
What do you mean? It still exists. You can play it right now. WTFrick are you talking about?
>>
Why does everyone carry unencrypted copies of their private communications on proprietary Sony formats?
>>
Why is Ubi-Soft so anti-fun and anti-immersion?
>you can't do that because you're the good guy. this mission is over >:((
>no playing, only these exact steps in this exact order. We can't make a game that doesn't break otherwise :(
>>
>>12132821
>the other is American propaganda that was only popular on the dudebro console.
And that's bad because...
>>
>>12133895
I know Blacklist gets a lot of hate but I genuinely prefer it over Double Agent and Conviction.
>>
>>12134032
Everyone who's played it does. People forget how bad those 2 were.
>>
>>12131496
MGS was raped in all but the stealth and espionage mechanics, so...
>>
>>12133895
The PS2 version of CT afaik is the shittiest port with missions differing significantly (ngage and 3ds version not taken into account)
PS2/GC port of DA is extremely limited also. Not only missions but gameplay - a lot of lights cannot be interacted with for example.
CT coop missions came with patch and from what I see, available on xbox and PC.
>>12133938
Yea first 2 games are famous for that.
>>
>>12131209
There is Double Agent with whatever the best version was
>>
Doodle thumbs for the suitcase
>>
>>12134760
Hm. I guess I can try and see if Xemu and Xenia are in a good enough condition to actually use these days. This series is really bad with version differences, some of them being different games from the ground up.
>>
>>12131498
and Breakpoint's Splinter Cell crossover questline they added was pretty good.
>>
>>12134876
Just rent/borrow one of the modern xboxes, splinter cells are one of the fewer titles that their emulator deals with perfectly.
>>
>>12134876
hell even 360 can run them with minimal issues if getting the original xbox is problematic in your region
>>
Splinter Cell Conviction turns you into the ultimate Badass.
>>
>>12134926
>>12134941
Xbox was never really a thing here in Mitteleuropa, though I could probably find all but the original one if I looked around. Tbh, I don't really want yet another device, especially one I can't repurpose like I can an old PC. I think I'll just make a note and check how the PC emulators are doing every now and then. I'm in no rush.
>>
>>12134945
Funnily enough, it's the first SC game I played. After having played all the rest of them, I kinda hate it now. I think Blacklist managed to do both the John Wick stuff and the actual stealth way better. After Blacklist, I always find myself wanting to do takedowns from cover or use this or that gadget/weapon that isn't there.
