I remember some game, either RPG or adventure, where the final boss is something like an eye with reptilian arms, but I might be mistaken. When you beat him, the universe ends - the hero drifts through darkness for a while, but then it's apparently restarted. Any idea which game that might be?

There are some weird endings like this in G-Darius, but it's really not that type of game.
I'm curious about that game, OP.

I'm assuming you're not talking about the game in your pic, Dark Savior?

What system? I'm assuming it looked japanese or anime?

Boss looked kinda like this (from Guardian Legend), unless I'm actually mixing it up.

No

Either SNES or MD; Japanese but western looking. I think it was a jRPG with a frontal battle system.

Terranigma?

Maybe the boss also looked a bit like a goofier Dark Falz. Pretty sure it's a single hero game, no party involved.

No!

Hydlide 3/Super Hydlide probably

MD or SNES the list is big...
Any other clue(s) ?
