To my fellow Zoombers who started with gen 3 and missed pokemania and had absolute no previous knowledge of gen 1 and gen 2.Which games did you like more RSE or FRLG?I personally found FRLG more enjoyable because without even knowing I found the Pokémon from Kanto more cooler/interesting than Hoenn Pokémon without even knowing they were Kanto Pokémon, Kanto as a region also has such a mere ikteresting vibe than Hoenn and I also found the Sevii isles much more enjoyable than the Battle Frontier.

>>12134614>my fellow Zoombers>>>/vp/
>>12134617That's not /pol/
>>12134614>started with gen 3 and missed pokemaniaThe fuck you mean? I vividly remember Pokemania extending through Gen 3.When Ruby & Sapphire came out, every kind I knew was talking about it.>Which games did you like more RSE or FRLG?The Hoenn games desu.
>>12135192Pokémon was popular with gen 3 but poke mania died long before.Poke mania isn’t just being popular, it was an all encompassing force
>>12134614Emerald > frlg > rsI got emerald and my brother got sapphire because my parents didn’t know there would be a difference between the versions, I liked the animations.
>>12135064/pol/ is based you incel
RSE >>>> FRLGThe main reason is because when FRLG came out I had played kanto so many times already, plus the tileset was way more boring. The tiles in RSE were a lot more vibrant.
>>12134614I liked RSE better, more cool Pokemon in Hoenn and some of the coolest from Kanto are available anywayThe one thing FRLG had going for it was access to Eeveelutions but even then you couldn't get the best two
>>12135192Pokemania isn't just a time where Pokemon was popular, it still is today. Pokemania is the absolute peak of Pokemon's influence and popularity, which was at the end of the 90s.
>>12135192That South Park episode wasn't exaggerating, it really was like that for the first couple years after Pokemon was introduced to the West
>>12135192You were too young to experience actual pokemania. Accept it and move on
>>12135192I remember all the kids that used to play pokemon not giving a fuck about RSE
>>12135192Gen II killed Pokemania.
>>12139048Kid's on my school still played gen 2, some emulated gen 3 and didn't like it, one even give me his copy of Ruby because he could emulate the game
>>12139051your playground and class year =/= the world
>>12135632pol sucks. o has soul
only it's a different vowel
>>12135632Go back to your containment board, nigger
don't take the bait
>>12139069What does this prove? That more people bought and played gen 2?
>>12139069>every pre-Switch gen new generation of games sells around the same, half as much as Gen 1 (with the exception of Gen 2 around two-thirds)>upper versions sell about half as well as their base versions>remakes of older gens for some reason are a gradually increasing % of their source as time goes onWhat causes that?
>>12139289More people play videogames
>>12137036True, but one could argue that Poekmania came back to life for a brief time with the release of Pokemon Go. I never played it, but people were going absolutely insane for it.
>>12139123What an elaborate troll, I almost respect it
I haven't played the GBA Pokemon in over 20 years, so I couldn't even give an opinion if I wanted to.
>>12141281ok
>>12139048G&S were still well and truly part of pokemania and were hugely popular. >>12139501This is definitely true
>>12135192By gen 3 most kids thought pokemon was “gay” and for nerds. It wasn’t until much later that being seen as a nostalgia nerd was popular.
