I have some mixed feelings about it.It feels like some elements in this game are really good as a concept, but the way they are written and acted out just make it not really effective at all. But conceptually I like it a lot and grew to like the specific art direction even though I kind of hated it at first. It Some parts felt very liminal, like Nipawomsett Village. The biggest letdown for me however was the lack of true puzzles, it felt like the game was mainly just find x item and use at y point. I expected some more real puzzles. But still had a fun time overall.
>The biggest letdown for me however was the lack of true puzzlesWhat? There's a ton of puzzles and they're very challenging. Did you use a guide after getting bored?
>>12136119they're not true puzzles, puzzles have pieces
>>12135593This was the first truly adult video game narrative.
>>12135593>The biggest letdown for me however was the lack of true puzzlesThe biggest letdown for me that we never get to see the heroine's boobies. Not even during a shower or struggling scene.
>>12137940It is kinda weird now that you mention it.
Every point and click needed a hint system like this game.
>>12138219I know, right.Look at those tauting juggs.
>>12136119the fuck, its probably one of the easiest point and click ever and theres even a hint system by clicking on the red skull in the inventory or something like that.
>>12137940Just search the actress's name and "nude", you'll see it
while it is fun, i much prefer the sequel in terms of bad-good FMV enjoyment. not to mention the first openly bisexual main character in a video game is quite the milestone.
not the biggest roberta wililams fan myselfim more of a jane jensen kinda guy
>>12137940Didn't the actress refuse to do nudity in the game.
>>12139478>first openly bisexual main character in a video gameHe's not, he is? At some point he just tries to make a move out of the blue on his gay buddy because he's all stressed out and confused and the guy gently tells him to fuck off. Nothing about men before and after that.>>12139396Damn, those are sad breasts. I'm glad we didn't get to see those, they were better in my mind.
>>12142018I remember that there's an entire FMV scene where Curtis tells the psychiatrist woman that he's had sexual attraction to his friend Trevor for years. Pretty sure it's the scene when telling her that he's been visiting the BDSM club lately and opens up about his sex life.
>>12142073My bad, then. I didn't remember this at all, but I haven't played the game over 10 years. The game has some surprisingly interesting characters (like Curtis and Trevor) and really boring ones (the BDSM co-worker).
>>12142079It's probably been about that long since I last played it too. The fact that I can even remember the character names beyond just Curtis says a lot about how much they do flesh some of them out pretty well. I can't say the same for most FMV game characters.Even the main plot of it I find pretty damn good. It's very hokey, especially once we get to the alien dimension. But I personally like it more than the original game just for how weird it gets. And the main character's backstory really sticks with me.Office Space meets Lovecraft is such a 90s idea, I'm very happy that it got made.
>>12142018>>12142073Found the scene.https://youtu.be/WjalRAIZXrA?si=Jqtka_iKROz5MlOE&t=8380(2:19:40 if the timestamp didn't work)
>>12142089>>12142103Thanks a lot, anon. It's pretty surprising to hear the original voice acting (I had an euro localized VA).It's pretty how surprising how the two games differ from each other, they share nothing except the title.
