>>12137525Don't care for fighting game garbage, don't care for Sonic, tried out various arcade games and they were shallow dogshit
>>12137526Not all the arcade games are shallow, but you're asking for a lot with a console with a controller that shitty.
I like the Shutoko Battle games, and the Sakura Taisen games, and Lack of Love, and Fuurai no Shiren Gaiden :)

>>12137631Back to nol no way
>>12137645make sure the bios files are in the data folder. i had the same problem at first but adding them fixed it
Dreamcast has a weird library. If you dont like arcade ports its slim pickings. Cannon Spike is neither easy not garbage. How about some racing? Metropolis Street Racer is pretty good. Daytona is a classic. Do you consider rail-shooters shmups? What about Rez? Super Magnetic Neo is a technically great platformer that can have polarizing aesthetics. Jet Grind Radio is fun. Crazy Taxi 1&2. Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Blue Stinger, Illbleed are all survival horror. Mr. Driller, armada, Record of Lodoss War. You strike me as the Space Channel 5 type. That and Napple Tale should be your first plays.
>BRO WHERE ARE THE MARIOS AND THE ZELDAS
>dynamite cop: shovelwareStopped reading there. This thread is a waste of time and OP is a putrid fag.
>>12137608the list is too long the ones i named are enough to shut down OP
>>12137521>Is it a meme to call the dreamcast good?Yes. It was also a fifth generation console. It also doesnt get enough credit for nosediving Sega into oblivion.
>>12138464>It also doesnt get enough credit for nosediving Sega into oblivion. It's literally their last console, I'm sure people realize it was the Dreamcast. Not that previous decisions were any better, they just run of money.
>>12138464Sega destroyed itself during the holiday season of '96 by releasing a 2D Sonic game with "3D" in the title and a gay purple clown flight simulator as their killer app for the Saturn.
>>12138671>a gay purple clown flight simulatorI want to play bootleg Pandemonium so bad but I'm not paying for the Saturn. Stupid Sega removed it from steam fo rsome reason. How much text does the game have? Wonder if I should get the jap PS2 version.
>>12137521t. Filthy casual
>>12137604>D2, Illbleed, Maken X, Shenmue.... and the list goes onI feel like Blue Stinger would fit in that list
>>12139727>Blue StingerSo would Pen Pen Triicelon.
>>12137521>>dynamite cop: shovelwaregenuinely kill yourself
>>12139819>>12139716Unlike most of /vr/ I actually play games instead of jerking off nostalgia, Dynamite Cop is genuine shovelware shit
Give it to me straight ladsIs Shenmue actually good and worth playing?
>>12137521what genres do you like anon?
>>12140093Action, racing, rail shooters, stylish action, puzzle
>>12140096Thank you for sharing your genre preferences; here are some Dreamcast recommendations that fit each category. The Dreamcast delivered a surprisingly diverse library across several key genres. In action, titles such as Shenmue (1999) blended open‑world exploration with melee combat and quick‑time events, while Jet Set Radio (2000) offered a kinetic inline‑skating experience where tagging walls and evading police felt like a living graffiti battle. ResidentEvilCode: Veronica (2000) provided a tighter, horror‑infused shooter focused on inventory management and tense corridor encounters. For racing, Sega Rally2 (1999) introduced dynamic weather and realistic tire physics for off‑road thrills and Metropolis Street Racer (2000) turned laps into a style contest with its “Kudos” scoring system. The console also excelled in rail shooters, stylish action, and puzzle games. Rez (2001) and SpaceChannel5 (1999) merged rhythmic elements with forward‑moving shooting, while PanzerDragoonOrta (2002) added dragon‑mounted combat and branching pathways. Stylized combat came from CrazyTaxi (1999), which rewarded reckless acceleration and stunt shortcuts, SkiesofArcadia (2000) with its fluid aerial ship battles, and PhantasyStarOnline (2000) offering deep weapon customization in a sci‑fi setting. Puzzle enthusiasts could enjoy ChuChuRocket! (1999)’s frantic mouse‑herding mazes, the timing‑focused “Practice” mode of VirtuaTennis (1999), and the colour‑matching twists of Tetris2 (1999). These selections illustrate the Dreamcast’s ability to deliver compelling experiences across action, racing, rail shooting, stylish combat, and puzzle gameplay—all within a compact, memorable catalog.
>>12140101thanks, chatgpt
>>12140120You’re very welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed those recommendations. If you’d like additional ideas—maybe some hidden gems, multiplayer titles, or games that fit a particular mood—just let me know. Happy gaming!
>>12140101>orta>dreamcast
>>12140135the LLM also thought Outrun 2006 was a Dreamcast game
>>12137521Oh nononono, /vr/ isn't gonna like this
>>12137521I enjoyed Skies of Arcadia (although I got bored and quit)But yeah, for how brutally troll-ish this thread is, I can't really disagree.I love the console aesthetitcally though. And if you include non-exclusives then there's plenty of good stuff. When you just count exclusives then it's pretty garbage
Put the rumble pak thing in, whatever the fuck sega thinks it should be called, and pop in Rez. Guaranteed good times ahead
