Why do the keys dissappear when you turn them?
>>12138725the locks have molten cores to prevent picking so the keys get melted after use.
>>12138725Probably magic keys.
Who puts a fucking key in an unlocked chest?
>>12138725They're e-keys, the certificates expire.
>>12138743Sir Ganondorf Dragmire does.
>>12138725They're quantum and it's revealed they only work in the one lock you use them on. Link throws them away since they're now useless.
Dark Link is just Link without a fairy to keep him honest.
>>12138876neither link had a fairy in zelda 2 whats the deal there?
>>12138884Zelda 2 Link is powered by heterosexual attraction to Princess Zelda, Dark Link is a nihilistic chud with a wicked sense of humor.
>>12138884Link himself was the fairy.
>>12138876Dark Link is just Link but without a childhood consisting of late night trysts into the Lost Woods to lick Saria's pussy all night
>>12138725one time use, they break. its explained in the game. its part of the lore. also in the oot manual on page 16. can we close this topic now?
>>12138906>"I will never know the flavor of Kokiri pubes" Dark Link cursed, whilst being struck down once more by the Megaton Hammer
>>12138876I thought it was socioeconomic factors
>>12138913that's some serious fucking feels. I think Dark Link deserves the pulitzer
>>12138725Each key is unique for each door, you just happen to use them on the correct door and in the correct order 100% of the time. The order can be random so if you use them in a different sequence on different playthroughs(or even if you reload a save) and they work it means the keys changed.
>>12138725Because the dummy who made Zelda 1 used "keys" instead of "lockpicks" to be original without thinking about the consequences.
>>12139125Lockpicks would make sense in Zelda 1 because they work in any dungeon but later games they don't carry over
the locked doors in oot were originally sealed off with ganon/gerudo curse runes instead, so they might have been considering that aspect
I kind of wish zelda games had a home depot in towns where you can have keys made with your full wallet that you have nothing to spend all your money on
>>12139384Thats called The Legend of Zelda>your full wallet that you have nothing to spend all your money onalthough your wallet wont be full in this game.
>>12139441there's also the fact that to use the bow you have to find what is apparently a fletching kit that uses rupees as arrowheads
>>12138725What, you think one key opens all doors? If you explored someone's house as a dungeon, would a single key open the front door, the car, security box, etc.?
>>12139468
>>12139468>What, you think one key opens all doors? In Zelda, this has actually always been the case. In Zelda 1 you could buy extra keys in shops and use them on any locked door in any dungeon. Later games made it so that you could only use keys within the dungeon they came from, but within any given dungeon all the small keys are completely interchangeable.
>>12139384>your full wallet that you have nothing to spend all your money onThere's a tool that lets you customize OoT and with some settings you can actually make money usefulFor example you can increase the damage you take from everything, disable heart drops, and make it so you can't bottle fairies, so you have to heal with milk and potions. You can even change how much milk heals if you feel it's too powerful because it's free and make purchasing potions more desirableHell, with some other settings you could even make it so you'd want to purchase arrows and stuff
>>12139119I was gonna post something erriely similar.
>>12139534my lasst few playthroughs (randomizer included) i turned off random drops from enemies and grass, it was only pots with pre-determined dev loot remaining (sometimes big ninty would make sure arrows dropped from pots before an arrow boss, etc)never hovered over max rupee wealth in those playthroughs, like the base game. i was buyin' shit
>>12139681NiceIt's crazy how the game has every element to make rupees useful but they just decided to release it in easy mode. Glad we have tools to make it interesting now
>>12139693i really do wish devs had the foresight to put in the effort for difficulty modes, when it comes to retro games like ocarina of timewhat good is a new engine pioneering the craft, when all you offer is shitty easy mode where the nuance doesn't matter? it's a real shame
>>12139125In this house, Shigeru Miyamoto is a hero, end of story!
>>12139474lion key face
>>12139505I was so pissed when I played ALBW and ended a dungeon with an extra key and the game said "fuck off, doesn't count, how fucking dare you.
>>12139721it's probably just so you can fully explore the dungeon if you use a key too early. there's something like that in level 3 of link's awakening.
Huh, that’s how it works in the video game. But that’s not how it works in real life! Why does Mario get big when he touches the mushroom? I’m going to make a thread about it.
>>12139795woah wtf... my inner-fag sense is tingling.. i must reply to your dumb naive ragebait, because i cannot possibly foresee it was all just trolling in jest. thank god you're not me
>>12139693Even without the grass and enemy drops the game is still baby mode. If you require an item or arrows to get through a certain section they will litter the place with pots that contain the item you need.
>>12138743He should've kept his own boss room key in his pocket as a one final fuck you to Link.
>>12139125Lockpicks aren't single-use. t. former thief
>>12138725Big Keymaker designed them to be one time use only to maximize profits.
>>12138725because link is fucking retarded and throws the key away thinking he wont need it anymore
>>12142218link grew up in the country, don't be mean to him
>>12138725Magic key DRM. Long nose tribe probably behind it so people have to hire their lockpicking skills
