Is there a bigger example of artificial difficulty than this?
>>
>>12140191
this slop sucked ass
adults played the card games and kids played pinball
no one played this turd
>>
>>12140191
It's a good game, there's no less than 6 moves that could have been made instead of just clicking in the middle for no reason
>>
>>12140191
I don't think you know what "artificial difficulty" means.
>>
>the virgin playing Minesweeper on Expert mode, carefully analyzing all the numbers, scrutinizing where to place his flags, and tearing his hair out when he reaches the endgame, terrified of losing all his progress to one misguided click
vs
>the Chad playing Minesweeper on Beginner and just clicking random squares until the smiley face puts on shades B)
>>
>>12140191
I got addicted to this for like a week. I was always too retarded/impatient to figure out how to play and then one day I actually tried to figure it out and it was pretty fun for a bit. and it was only a few years ago when I finally learned how to play without knowing my whole life. but I lost interest when I found out that sometimes you can lose no matter what.

Loved doing this

yes it sucks that games often come down to guessing
>>
>>12140236
>no one played this
Yeah bro nobody played a classic iconic game that came with every windows system

Fucking kek'd

kek

You need to think laterally.

You mean the artificial difficulty your parents are having raising you because they had a downy because they lost a drunk bet?
>>12140327
>yes it sucks that games often come down to guessing
I guess you're retarded. jk. everyone knows.

this is now a classic windows games thread. i recently rediscovered this (i've never learned how to play klondike as a kid) and it's now my favourite game when i have <1 hour of free time.
>>
>>12140998
talking about solitaire like its an obscure untranslated japanese game is shutting down my brain. Its like being transported to another dimension.

Fortunatly you have a good 5-6 years before you reach the age of 18 so still plenty of time. Apply yourself.

someone made a rumors thread earlier and now this OG comes to mind. people would insist that there was a way to evade / outrace the abominable snowman, but of course there wasn't (despite my best efforts).

neat little story about its creation from the author himself: https://blog.codinghorror.com/the-story-of-skifree/

I watched paprika 10 years ago and have no clue what it was about, absolutely no memory of it
>>
>>12141272
i don't think that's a bad thing. the experience is like a crazy dream: mind-blowing in the moment but not something you'll remember much of. i've seen it at least a couple times though so i remember some.

you can go faster than the monster, and even more so if you hit jumps. you can go so far that a second monster shows up. you can even go up at the start and eventually come up behind a monster thats just standing/jumping there, waiting for you to get too close.

Minesweeper is a perfectly good example of artificial difficulty if we're talking about primitive implementations that don't assure you don't have to rely on chance to finish the board.
>>
>>12143838
That's some bullshit
>>
>>12143838
>>12143868
This is a perfectly good example of participation trophy mentality.
>>
>>12140278
Big dick energy
>>
>>12145868
It's not and you can't give a logical reason why it would be.
>>
>>12147217
It's litterally participation trophy generation children losing their shit because their fragile psyche is shattered when faced with a situation where they must make a coin toss choice that could result in losing a round in an insignificant single player game.
>>
I setup Windows 3.1 in 86box recently and I can beat Minesweeper on Expert and Solitaire with drawing 1 card at a time pretty easily, but there's one thing that confuses me.

How the hell are you supposed to win Solitaire in the 3 card mode with the "Vegas" rules where you only get to dig through the card stack once. 99% of the time it seems like it's just fucking impossible.
>>
>>12147614
>but there's one thing that confuses me.
There are countless things that confuse you
>it seems like it's just fucking impossible.
It seems like you're really fucking stupid and only tried it a few times. You aren't, per chance, a participation trophy baby?
>>
>>12147652
Projection is a type of display technology, not something you should do on 4chan.
Even 1 card draw Solitaire is unwinnable sometimes.
