was Warrior Within a step in the right direction for PoP?
>>12140652anything was better than PooP
The tits were better and that is all that matters.
>>12140652No. POP reboot had that fairy tail style to it, then WW made it all edgy and it lost what made it special. I remember a lot of games went for that edgy style during that time.
>>12140804>I remember a lot of games went for that edgy style during that time. The golden era. I hate how self conscious and insecure our irony poisoned culture is.

>>12140652That whole trilogy was really good, afterwards it only had some interesting concepts but it didnt have another strong identity to expand or make a newer universe for Prince of Persia
>>12140804I'll take edgy over lame and gay any day of the week.
>>12140652It was an interesting take, though not really original since edgy was the standard back then. OST was great though. And the boobies.
No it was a buggy mess
>>12140652Yes, absolutely. An interconnected world that changes in past and present, more combos, nice music, two endings. None of the other games did any of that.
>>12140652No.>sot had the og creator invested. right amount of puzzles, story and combat>sequels didn't have him in it, made by people who didn't 'get it', trying to replicate it
>>12140652The prince of Sands of Time was a much better character, but Warrior Within had some pretty good ideas when it comes to gameplay and level design. The atmosphere and character art also perfectly fit the edge. It was dark lightning in a bottle and should never be replicated.
>>12140652Not really, it had a really elaborate moveset but most enemies could be completely wrecked by the strafe roll -> slash. The change in tone was a real mess too, it's unrecognizable as a continuation of something that was inspired by Arabian Nights. I will admit that the massive game world was amazing though.>>12141487This too, the game was very prone to softlocks just by being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or going to the right place through the wrong entrance.
