Lately I've felt very disinterested in gaming. Like I just can't enjoy any game I play no matter how hard I try. I want to sit down and enjoy gaming, but when I start up a game I can only get 20-30 minutes in before I stop. Firstly, I'd like to ask for some games you'd recommend for people in this situation. And lastly I'd like to ask how you've gotten out of this rut if you've dealt with it. Thanks and happy Halloween.

>>12141680You're probably depressed. Don't force yourself to game, just do whatever sounds entertaining. If nothing sounds entertaining, call a shrink.
Yeah I feel this way for most games. Strategy games tend to keep my attention though. I recently went through shining force 1 and 2 pretty fast
20-30 minutes is fine though.Just play old classics.

>>12141741I'm a zoomer who just started his 20s Anon.>>12141687I have that but a month ago I was playing games and having a good time. I was even picking up new arcade games to grind scores in and playing through Bomberman Hero. I don't know what changed.
>>12141761>I'm a zoomerWatch some streamers.
>>12141680it probably means you are subconsciously craving more stimulation or depth than these games are giving. but like >>12141687 said, this can apply to more than just gaming. you might just be focused on gaming because it's your salve and it's not working anymore.otherwise you just have to put yourself in the right mindset: go back to being a child or just drink / smoke a lot until you're vibing. i'm already an alcoholic anyway so this improves my gaming experience.look at small details, the sprites, think about the programming, get bizarre and schizo about it. regress to your inner child by whatever means necessary and awaken to your buddha nature.
>>12141680Pick up a few arcade games, be they via MAME or ports to other consoles.Instant action no faffing about. You can get quite far through an arcade game in 20 minutes.Same goes for Gameboy and GBC titles, fast fun with no real overwhelming pressure to stick around.I just welcomed my first kid into the world this past month so my time is quite limited,I get about 20 minutes to play anything if I'm lucky so I'm in a similar (though less depressed) boat.Don't know what you like but recently I've been playing > Golden Axe Revenge of Death Adder> Raiden Fighters 1 and 2> Ghouls and Ghosts> Wario Land II> SMB Lost Levels (NES)> Tower of Druaga (Not using the internet for help)> Oracle of Seasons (One dungeon at a time)I also own a PlayDate and there's some really good puzzle games that fit the criteria there too but not retro. To reiterate, just focus on simple games, and maybe try doing something that's not gaming like reading books, going to a pub with mates or something. Gaming was not meant to occupy your whole life.
Just stick to the genres you like and you SHOULD be at an age where you know yourself enough to know about the games you'd like.
>>12141780>drink / smoke a lot until you're vibing. i'm already an alcoholic anyway so this improves my gaming experience.Fucking terrible advice, especially if OP does have depression.
>>12141680Take a break from gaming.Go take a lot of walks. Go do something else as a hobby for a while. The most I've enjoyed gaming in my adult life was after I finished Grad School, where I couldn't play games for 4 years I was so busy. Then, going back, I had a really great time.
