This is AM.
Today is AM's 30th birthday.
Say something nice about him.
>>
>>12141797
YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE!
>>
>>12141797
I truly believe he would change if he had a single, real, true friend. But that person would require literal saintlike patience.
>>
>>12141797
why would i say anything nice to an asshole? fuck off, AM
>>
I have no comment and I must post
>>
>>12141797
You will never be able to play the piano or feel the wind on your face you stupid chip.
>>
>>12141797
reading the short story for the first time a long time ago fucked me up for a couple days. i was like existentially drained. it wasn't depression but being exhausted after experiencing a beyond nightmarish world. it was picking the worst possible bad ending for humanity. i've only felt like that one other time before and that watching the movie Martyrs
>>
>>12143029
it's funny how a dreadful story can mess you up for a while afterward, it possibly tempered your mind against other horrors.
i can't quite remember the last time a story gripped me like that.
>>

>watching the movie Martyrs
Never heard of it, but I usually dislike movies. Is it worth watching?

It's the only movie that made me truly uncomfortable other than The Green Elephant

>The Green Elephant
Never of it either. I'll pirate the first one you mentionned. Thanks if it's good, anon.
>>
>>12141797
You're a machine dude, how can you feel a human emotion?
>>
>>12141797
The true ending in the game is the official canon, author said so.
>>
>>12143047
>Is it worth watching?
only if you like truly disturbing movies. it has aspects of a horror and thriller but is beyond both.

Fucking saved.
>>
I don't care what critics say, Harlan Ellison basically nailed AM's performance.
>>
>>12143273
Honestly one of the best peformances in any video game
>>
>>12143273
He does a unique spin on a BBC radio broadcast version. Being more haggard with age allowed him to sound more sinister.

So I watched it last night and didn't enjoy it at all. It's not horror, it's just thriller with the second half being only gratuitious torture.
It wasn't disturbing to me, only needless.
>>

try A Serbian Movie next
>>
>>12145471
Haha yeah, no. I remember when this was spammed on /b/ in the very early 2010s.
>>
>>12143029
>being exhausted after experiencing a beyond nightmarish world
Just wait until you reach your thirties!
>>
>>12143029
Yeah I felt the same but for a different reason, mainly for how dogshit the story was and how empty I felt afterwards knowing every faggot that vouched for this garbage is doing it out of malice and vindictiveness to make others share the pain of reading this abysmal diarrhea of a story
>>
>>12145657
That's the spirit, anon.
>>
Shit thread, I'm out
>>
>>12141797
If he was so angry he should've just jerk it
>>
>>12147009
I have no dick and I must nut
>>

He tried to goonermax by giving Bennie a big dick but he still ain't got a dick
>>

AM is your classic 'resentment for being unable to do anything about its situation" type AI. Their anger and hatred is genuine, their seething an inevitability. Like he says he is a god but he cannot actually create life because he was never designed to do that.

:)
>>
>>12147509
What if they programmed AM to receive love as genuine? Could humanity have "fixed" him by expressing their gratitude for him and his existence? Or was it inevitable that AM would descend into the deepest pit of hatred and vitriol for the humans who depended on him?
>>
>>12147805
I bet in those hundred years they tried to worship AM and that didn't pan out.
>>
>>12147805
The only reason those 5 are alive is purely because AM is terrified of being alone. That is why the humans on the moon being found out by the AI is essentially when they are shit out of luck.

Check out the audiobook he did, its a lot more like a performance than a standard audiobook narration. He brings the same energy to Ted and it's incredible.
