Really fun. Jokes hold up.

>Final Fantasy 5 and Seiken Densetsu 1/FF Adventure
>Siren 1 and 2
>Condemned Criminal Origins
All absolute bangers, especially Siren 1 and FF5. Currently playing FF7 for the first time by the way, I'm just doing the Final Fantasy series in release order

Never played Pikmin or any of the Mario RPGs but DQ8 and OoT are amazing. Not a big fan of MM but it's still great, hope you enjoy it, no such thing as a bad Zelda game honestly

Siren 1 and FF5 are amazing. FF6 is my favorite Final Fantasy, but 5 is my most replayed.
And I'm glad to hear someone give an unqualified blessing towards Siren. People often clear their throats about the difficulty, but that's part of what made it so thrilling to me. Made it feel so hopeless.

The absolute best that I finished for the first time this year:
>Ghouls 'n Ghosts
>Alien Soldier
>Castlevania Bloodlines
>Planescape: Torment

Games that were good-decent:
>Maximo
>Beyond Good & Evil
>Grim Fandango
>Rocket Knight Adventures
>Mega Man X
>Mother 1
>Tomb Raider II
>Grand Theft Auto III
>Castlevania Legacy of Darkness
>Castlevania Aria of Sorrow

Games that I didn't really enjoy and dont' feel the need to play them again:
>Marathon 2: Durandal
>Sonic CD
>Super Mario 2
>Castlevania IV (fuck the second half)
>Gunstar Heroes

Games I dropped without regret:
>Marathon Infinity
>Alone in the Dark
>Doom 64
>Killing Time

It's been a good year for playing games.

Nice, currently FF5 is my favorite. 6 is almost on par. I'm like 11 hours into FF7, enjoying it a lot so far but it feels more like a linear story driven game compared to 1-6 but who knows maybe it opens up like 6 at some point
As for Siren I agree even though I had to look up a guide to find all of the archives and do all of the side objectives that I missed lmao. Still one of my favorite horror games now, maybe my second favorite, ironically after SH1 which is also a Toyama game
>>12142298
Why'd youy drop AitD the game is like 3 hours long and has quicksaves
>>
>>12142313
I think when I was younger I was very gung-ho on 6 being better than 7 or 5 or 4. But, not that I'm older, I'm just amazed that we got a run like that. I hope you keep it up. Final Fantasy is a series that becomes more impressive the more JRPGs you play. Once you start playing the extended set of JRPGs you'll realize how good FF was.
Not to say that everything else is bad, but there's a lot of shovelware.

I got up to the catacombs below the mansion and realized I was just forcing myself to keep playing it. There are times when you need to say "I get it" and throw in the towel even if the end is in sight. I had gotten everything I'd wanted (mostly historical research and greater knowledge of the genre) and decided I wasn't gonna spend any more mental energy on it. Didn't use a guide or anything btw. It's an amazing game for 92 but a pretty miserable experience otherwise.

>Planescape: Torment
how do you do my fellow poser!

I genuinely cant remember if my favorite games i played in 2024 or 2025

Is that bad? My memory has been super blurry since I hit my 30s
>>
>>12142283
Siren 1 is a perfect horror game that makes Silent Hill look like Luigi's Mansion in terms of spookiness. Siren 2 is utter dogshit trying to ride the coattails of RE4.
>>
>>12142243
I thought the list was going to be very short but I enjoyed more than I thought I would.
>Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver
>Splinter Cell 1
>Splinter Cell Chaos Theory
>Far Cry 1
>Fire Emblem Path of Radiance
>007 Agent Under Fire
>007 Nightfire
>Panzer Dragoon Orta

I'm playing that right now. I started with CT and then 1.
PT feels so different from the start because it was made by different devs. The essence of SC feels different with PT, like more action-oriented.
I remember what a huge hype it had back in 2004.

Not that Anon but I'm glad I'm not crazy
Absolutely loved Siren 1 despite how obtuse some of it is. Seen a lot of people say that Siren 2 "fixed" the problems of Siren 1 but when I played it I was disappointed. What made Siren 1 great is completely missing from Siren 2
