is eternal darkness worth playing on an emulator? I feel like a lot of its gimmicks only work with a gamecube and crt tv
It seems like uou already know the gimmicks anyway so what difference does it make.
>>12142694I only know the volume slider and the console reset thing
>>12142671the gimmicks are slop desuthe game is good with or without them
I wouldn't really say its worth playing at all, to be honest. It's a very undercooked game with some neat parts but it seriously wears out its welcome and just drags on and on while you replay the same levels ad infinitum.
>>12142671There's like 2 sanity effects that were made for people using CRTs but that's about it
>>12142713Those are the only two that make sense only on a console/TV afair. The rest is "in-game".
>>12142671I replayed Eternal Darkness again around 2016 and it the "gimmicks" didn't age as well as I remembered as a kid. I even played it on the same TV that I had when it first came out. So, honestly just play it however you can and enjoy the game for what it is. tl;drDon't force yourself to play it on a CRT if you don't have one set up already.
>>12142767>it seriously wears out its welcome and just drags on and on while you replay the same levels ad infinitumThis. It's only really worth it for the atmosphere alone and the mansion's the only good part of the game, which that and the story were the only compelling aspects that kept me going. The last 2 chapters and then the final part with Alex I was pretty tired of it and just going through the motions at that point. 5/10 gameplay, 10/10 atmosphere.
