Yep. Pretty cool they worked that out at the time.
There were two exclusive Zelda games for the BS system. One was a remake of the orig Zelda and another was a competition-style reimagining of aLttP (BS The Legend of Zelda: Ancient Stone Tablets, which you can get translated ROMs of).

They did. Fortunatly the satelite was directly overerhead the same reigion all the time, so could be and was used all the time. You might be confusing broadcast time with orbit. But most likely you're just tapping words you heard on youtube from someone who did.

I know nothing about this other than it has the word satellite in the name. Did it come with a special Nintendo branded satellite dish that you put outside your window? I guess it didn't tie up your phone line like a normal dial up connection would.

It didn't fail, it officially ran all the way to 1999, and unofficially for nearly a year afterwards. The SNES was already dead since 1997 in the US, and SFC got it's final official game around the time the Satellaview finally shut down for good. According to wikipedia, they had 100,000 subscribers in 1997. And it did all that while competing with the PS1, Saturn, and then against the N64.
XBand was a failure. It only lasted 3 years, and had a peak of 15,000 subscribers.

XBAND is relevant though. That always seemed cool to me. I wasn't good enough at Street Fighter to actually want to play it against another human though.

Definitely cool, though not wholly unique even for the time. Most people know about the Sega Channel, which launched around the same time, but Intellivision had a similar service called PlayCable a decade prior where users could download a different set of games each month through cable. Satellaview differed in its use of the satellite, while the other two used cable to deliver games to subscribers.
