Did any retro game made you cry (because of good story)?

DKC when he lost his banana

No, I'd already experienced books and movies.
>>
>>12146327
Primal existential dread that one.
>>

FF4 was my first FF, and it almost made me abandon the whole franchise with its depressing drama. And the 5 character limit didn't help neither, as a character has to leave somehow whether by injury or worse

no x

PMD when they go home
>>
>>12146313
No. I'm not a mentally unstable zoombie desperately looking for a (doomed to fail) way to fit in
>>
No. Still waiting for Brokebuck Mountain the video game.

Mother 1 when you sing the 8 melodies the first time
>>
A fan translated JRPG made me cry. I won't say what one because I don't want some YouTuber milking it, but I still think about the story and the ending.
>>
>>12146313
No. In theory this could happen but... I just can't think of any game, old or new, that could possibly do it to me.
>>

I don't really understand what your secret is protecting. Prolific YouTubers who happen to be trashy will make lots of trash whether you're involved or not. And I at least never run into videos (or articles etc.) like that, despite how many of them there are. You don't have to either; it's easy not to. So what's the danger?
>>

congrats being one of the most retarded faggot posts Ive ever seen on this shithole of a website. why did you even bother posting this worthless comment
>>
>>12147773
You clearly have no idea how deluded children are

I'm gatekeeping the art I like. YouTubers are degenerate retards that would step over their own mother for a buck.

ending of ffx because... god damn. this one will still get me. x-2 is not canon btw.
ffvii death scene, though its really not because of what happens and much moreso how emotional and nostalgic aeris theme is for me. without the music id feel nothing at this point but that song is a gut punch.
the first time I played ffviii the eyes on me scene got me. again not because I give a shit about squall and rinoa really but the uematsu music hits me right in the fucking feels.

cant think of any other game that can even get me close.

>I go to discussion boards and click a discussion thread made for discussing videogames so I can discuss how much I refuse to discuss something otherwise le youtuber boogeyman will steal my brilliant refined taste which bothers me because I cant help watching them constantly despite how much I claim to be above them

literal 12 year old behavior. unironically kill yourself

You cannot milk a JRPG aside from maybe FF7, let alone an unofficially translated one.

>THIS WEIRD PS2 GAME IS TOTALLY DERANGED!!1

Ace Attorney
Yes it doesn't take much to make me cry.

I remember Cave Story giving me a sinking feeling during first playthrough when most of the cast was dying left and right.
Who knew a game about shooting funny creatures could be this moving.
>>
>>12147773
NTA, but love is complicated. I'm a fan-artist, but I keep my most obscure waifu to myself because I never want anyone else to draw her out of inspiration. Mostly because I fear a shallow, gaudy attempt to impress me. Or inspiring some poor-taste fetish artist to pick up the same waifu.
I wish to inspire, but she's mine.

Says the manchild having a melty over a fucking video game lmao.
You will never have a wife.
>>
>>12148041
Exactly. What was worse is that the game really made you feel like a robot. You literally kill an innocent mimiga, and move on. Then somebody else dies, the game doesn't make a big deal about death. It's fucking weird vibes mann.
>>
I knew this thread would bring out the crazies, but damn that was quick lol
>>
>>12148054
Yeah. And for a cherry on top it gut punches you with scenes from collapsing areas accompanied with somber music.
"Thank you for playing" my ass.
