I'M JUST GONNA SAY IT AND I DON'T CARE IF YOU LIBERAL SNOWFLAKES GET OFFENDED
BUT I DON'T LIKE STARFOX 64 BECAUSE FIRSTLY IT HAS UNSKIPPABLE CUTSCENES AND SECOND YOUR BIG FAT ASS SPACESHIP COVERS THE SCREEN
IT'S ACTUALLY PRETTY FUN OTHERWISE

Mike, just deal with the cutscenes. They're fun.

I remember this thread...
>>
The cutscenes are like 15 seconds long, skippable after the first watch and are fun. What's to complain about?
>>
The cutscenes and voice clips during them are actually pure fucking kino, and if you're so adhd-pilled that you unironically coped yourself into believing gameplay is everything there is to VIDEO games, you are stupid!
>>

>not playing the game is good actually

Great game. Favorite levels are Asteroid Belt, Area 6 and Titania. Voice acting is done just right so it feels cheesy but it’s endearing. The game has a great skill ceiling and it seems like a higher score is always within reach.

I never noticed the ship covering the screen I think its one of the better rail shooters in that regard. The Cotton one on Dreamcast was really bad in that aspect though.

Cutscenes, seriously? I think they’re mostly skippable except the end of level ones and a few boss intros and like the one where Fox goes into Venom after Star Wolf. Never thought it was a big deal. Lots of disc based games had longer load times than some of these.

>UNSKIPPABLE CUTSCENES
You can press Start to skip all of them, what are you talking about? Unless you consider a boss moving onto the screen to be a cutscene or something.
>>
>>12147474
This is a snoy containment board with 10 people, no one gives a shit if you don't enjoy a masterpiece.
>>
>>12148219
Considering there's dialogue too in those boss arrival scenes, they are absolutely cutscenes.
>>
>>12148250
To me, it's not a cutscene unless control has been taken from you.
>>
>>12148287
It does take control from you in parts
>>
>>12148290
I can't think of any scene where control is taken from you and you can't skip it.
>>
>>12148295
pretty sure you can't skip the cutscenes when you for example switch from rail to open flying
>>
>>12148297
Okay, you're right about that. But also it's like 5 seconds long and is necessary to hide the level loading, so I'd say it's a nitpicky complaint.
>>
>>12147474
Cocky little freak

???

>psh games were better back in the arcade days, no cutscenes no bullshit just pure gameplay density
>what's that, a nintendo game has cutscenes?
>uh uh actually they're good
>>
Super Mario Bros. is a movie game because it takes 1.5 seconds to go down a pipe.

SNES Starfox Master race reporting in.
>>
>>12147474
It's pretty basic for a 3d space shooter from that time.
>>
>>12147474
>UNSKIPPABLE CUTSCENES
Gaming sin.
>>
>>12148428
Even Pac-Man has cutscenes, anon. And they were a lot of fun to watch.
Also when someone uses examples like >>12148297 you can apply that to any arcade game. With logic like that, Galaga has an "unskippable cutscene" at the end of every level where it totals your score and at the beginning of every level where it plays intro music and tells you what level number you're on.
This isn't a case of "it's okay when Nintendo does it" this is a case of OP being a whiny little bitch over nothing. Every substantial cutscene in Star Fox 64 can be skipped, and the things that can't be skipped are largely glorified loading screens no different from what you find in every similar arcade game.
>>
Star Fox 64 is decent. Not amazing, just decent. Going back to it after playing real shmups feels lame, but shmups are brutal and definitely not for everyone, so training wheel games like these need to exist. And that's good enough for most people
>>
>>12147474
cons
1)Furries
Pros
2)Probably the best of the branslop whore stable games run by king pimp tendieverse marketing. Mario is the bottom bitch. He makes sure zelda hands over the ass bread like a gud brandwhore.

this but unironically

Mario should just warp to the end credits, but only after I solve an ingame sudoku puzzle first. Then it would be 100% pure gameplay and I can move on to the next game on my backlog of "kino games I've collected recommendations for, but treat as a mundane boring checklist"

Does the PC port let you skip cutscenes?
>>
>>12151898
Probably since the original lets you as well.
>>
>>12152260
When he says "cutscenes" he means boss animations and all-range mode loading scenes.
