Yeah there’s some good JP only games on Saturn. Lot’s of arcade shmups and fighters because that was the Saturn’s thing. I could name a few. “Major Releases” are not what the Saturn fans today still talk about all that much. They either talk about Shmups, fighting games or anime dating simulator freak shit. Maybe a few are talking about the RPG’s and the “Major Releases” like Panzer Dragoons, Powerslave, Sega Racers, Astal, Sonics, and the big fighters.

I’m not here to say it had more variety that PS1 or better AAA titles than N64 though. But I love the jp arcade ports, and some jp rpgs are worth playing. The Saturn is a niche system good for certain genres only.

>Radiant Silvergun
>Elevator Action Returns
>Metal Slug
>Guardian Force
>Blast Wind
>Hyper Duel
>Batsugun
>Battle Garegga
>Psychic Killer Toromaru
>Castlevania SOTN (I’d call this a major release, but of course it’s an inferior port with bells and whistles)
>Bulk Slash
>Stellar Assault
>Grandia
>Shining Force 2&3 (Also Major Releases)
>Gungriffon 2
>Willy Wombat
>Metal Black
>Assault Suit Leynos
>Dragonforce 2
>Wachenroder
>Night Striker S
>All the Saga Ages (only 3 in us)
>Baroque
>Tons of fighters idc about, but people love em. Just look up jp exclusive saturn fighters.
>Shutoku Battle, J Drift, Choro Q Park

tell me 5 good american games (euro slop doesn't count)
>>

The US library is pretty good, and there are lots of decent western developed games, both 2D and 3D.
The US+JP library is impressive, second only to PS1, completely dwarfs N64 in the number of good games.

Sega of America wanted it to fail in America though, so it failed in America. Money that could have been used translating JP games or marketing the console was instead used on marketing the Genesis 8 years after it's release and developing flop late Genesis exclusives like The Ooze.

DragonForce 1 was released internationally but DragonForce 2 was JP-only, so I guess both sides are right in a way.
