The Xbox was awesome for the online experience, even more so if you didn't have access to a PC for multiplayer stuff. I played a shitton of Halo 2/MechAssault and enjoyed playing a lot of other weird multiplayer sloppa on it too, like that shitty Unreal Championship game and Iron Phoenix. Xbox live was cool and the steady stream of demos was also rad. I don't think history is kind to it because a lot of those features were refined with the 360 and are now commonplace.I played a lot of actual garbage that I for some reason have a fondness for. GameCube has some actual classics but the Xbox library is more compelling to me for how weird it is

Xbox had the best game of the generation. The graphics were crazy good at the time and the game still holds up. The GameCube had some enjoyable games but nothing even close to Butcher Bay.

Here's the deal with the gamecube. Was the console "just okay?" Sure. It was JUST OKAY.But you had Super Mario Sunshine which was so good it carried the entire console. It was like Halo for the Xbox. It was THAT good.
