we have megaman at home

Why is his head so fucking huge?
>>
>>12170147
He needs a lot of processing power to calculate 45° angles.

Better graphics than the actual mega mans of the generation

Despite people babbling about SNES being the superior hardware, Genesis games always look more eye-pleasing to me. Must be the limited palette leading to more striking games.

I remember first reading about it in Gamefan magazine as Spark. Sure, the Megaman games were some of my favorites on the NES, and the Genesis may not have an equivalent at the time, but I was not disappointed with how Pulseman turned out. Even though the voices were low-bitrate scratchy, it just made it cooler to me. The visuals are some of the better you will see on the system too with its charming characters. A shame it hasn't gotten as much attention as it deserves.
>>
>>12170294
Genesis games tended to use more saturated colors due to the limited palette, yes
>>
>>12170140
So why didn't this release westward again? All the voice acting was already in English...
(Yes, I know about the SEGA Channel and VC/NSO releases, but I'd argue those are just "official imports" if that makes sense)
>>
>>12170140
God how I wish that Pulseman was the game that Game Freak dedicated all their time to rather than Pokémon...
>>
>>12170294
they're sharper due to higher resolution

Wily War should been on TG-16 as well and sequel war come out only on SNES
>>
>>12172435
It sometimes feels like Game Freak resents Pokemon for being so popular that it eclipses everything else they do.

I think you mean exclusive...

Nevermind.

No, it's really just Ken Sugimori
>>
>>12170140
Pulseman handles a lot better than megaman and the levels/enemy placement are far better designed.
>>
>>12170147
Better visibility on a 240p display.

I want to live in the timeline where this took off instead of Pokémon.

They didn't bring over Alien Soldier either. SoA at the time seemed to be shifting away from Japanese releases unless they were originally developed by Sega themselves. To be fair, they were getting solid money at the time from Aladdin, Mortal Kombat, and sports games.
Or maybe Pulseman's origin story was too weird for them

Beatrice a cute.

Sega Channel actually had some pretty solid exclusives. It was an above average platformer for its time and probably would have sold well here.
>>
>>12170140
It plays nothing like Mega Man though, even the Shinobi games on the Game Gear are more Mega Man-like.

>>12170885
Richest guy on this board.
>>
Why'd Game Freak never make a sequel to this game for the GBA or DS? The game would be perfect for those systems.

It plays like one of those eurojank Amiga games.
>>
>>12182930
And that's a good thing!
>>
>>12181550
Because by that point, Pokemon had them by the balls.
>>
>>12181550
Drill Dozer was in a similar vein, no? And it was also similarly mediocre.
>>
Really neat game I wish it wasn't so absurdly flashy. I can't play it because I'm afraid I'll get a seizure.
>>
>>12170140
This plays nothing like Mega Man, Anon. It's more like Sparkster if anything.

I saw a TG16 version of the original Megaman at a vendor's table recently at a comic convention this past summer. I don't remember if it was a HuCard or Super CD-ROM game because it was expensive as the vendor was asking $50USD for it (I think it was still new/sealed though).

>>12179849
Probably not, I just got the game because I was so hyped by the news articles about the game. No one in my area liked Sega games, so I had to import it when it was new. In those days it was all SNES games. See for yourself, these were the articles that convinced me and with the drought of available Genesis games, $70 for almost any quality title on the console was a worthy purchase at the time. The screenshots would have convinced you too, I'm sure.
