Reminder there should be no visible black gaps between the scanlines. If there are, it's time to tune up your set, because that looks retarded and nobody had their CRT set up like that in the old days.
This is just a comparison of aperture grille vs slot mask. Anyone who had a Sony TV made between the 80's and 2000's had the former.

>>12176829It's not even that, CRT on the right is just low TVL and smallYou can still see the lines on slot mask
This schizo again. You got BTFO months ago. Left is a 1000 TVL aperture grille set, right is a 300-500 TVL slot mask set. You cannot turn one into the other by just "tuning up your set". Just like you can't be a woman if you have XY chromosomes. You're an annoying troll who has no idea of how CRTs work.
I definitely prefer the low TVL look on the right, but why bother spreading such obvious misinformation?at least post it somewhere like reddit instead, so it can trick retards
>>12176956>but why bother spreading such obvious misinformation?Need I remind you of the "CRT misinformation" troll and "Sega System" troll? They are the same personHe also posts his marble bench top with all his collectibles
I can change this in 2 seconds with CRT-Royale ;)
A good PVM made in the latest days will automatically switch itself and make sure the scanlines are as wide as they need to be with no black bars (as an option). JVC and Sony do this.I have an LED array-lit HDR Sony Cinema Display that will do this as well. It's an elaborate set, it has a rack mount unit that takes power and inputs and this feeds a large panel which is like 40+ pounds for a mere 27+ screen, with one fat cable.
>>12176956The set on the left can be easily adjusted to look correct with no black lines. It's just... people on Reddit seem to think the black lines are what make it CRT-lookin'.
>>12176801If you use a pvmeme you're poorly adjusted

>>12176801I might be mistaken as it is too technical for my understanding but I always thought the black lines was part of the "240p" trick to have more video information on fit within a small bandwidth, as the black lines themselves are the scanline. I remember an old EGM article which showed off how much sharper the video game image could be with Batman on the Genesis displaying the "Don't Walk" signs clearly, yet still having the scanlines. I am still on the lookout for help in properly calibrating my old CRT, but most information is about modern displays, so I'm just eyeballing what looks nice so far for the game until I get assistance for proper colors on the screen.
