Like, I see people claim that Metroid Prime or Souls or Elder Scrolls actually have great storytelling because it's 'indirect' and you discover things yourself via finding things and reading the text you get from that, but, for whatever merits these game have in this respect, Zelda just does this kind of thing better than any of those series do.The problem is that most of this lore in these other games is often barely relevant to the actual world you see and directly interact with, while Zelda really goes out of its way to let you discover things about the world and the characters in it in way that seriously enriches the way you see the land and the NPCs that inhabit it, actively exploring various themes and having consequences play out as you travel through time as see what happens to people. Zelda employs a 'cinematic sense' that couldn't actually be done in cinema itself, because cinema is inherently linear and plays out in a specific way, rather than letting you get the impression of what feel like a world yourself.
