Which one was better?
>>12187401Killer Instinct SNES
>>12187417I mean, on N64
Killer Instinct Gold obviously. The real rival of KI Gold was MK Trilogy (which was N64 exclusive at first), but I always felt Trilogy was mugen-like and KI2/Gold was a proper polished game. Also KI in general has better gameplay than MK series, despite some people really loving it.I like MK but it's mostly for the lore and characters than actual gameplay, while on KI I like both, gameplay and lore
>KI copies finishers>MK copies combostoo bad one died
>>12187519>MK Trilogy (which was N64 exclusive at first)Trilogy started development on PS1
>>12187401Killer Instinct plays closer to japanese fighting games, so it's objectively better, but I would still rather play MK.>on 64Yes, I would pick MKT or MK4 over KI:G.
>>12187508Mace: The Dark Age
MK4 was more accessible with many ports while KI2 only had one. KI2 multiplayer is more enjoyable for the button mashing and wacky finishers, but even the arcade on real hardware was a bit choppy and I've never played Gold. How was the performance on N64?
>>12187612Some stages are choppy, like the Sabrewulf stage
>>12187401KI, because MK is shit.Daw, upset that your 20+ spam threads are gone?
>>12187401No fighting game fan owned N64 so hard to say, nobody played KI on it people only played the SNES one Zoomers emulate N64 but why would I, I knew the console was shit as a 7 year old
>>12187962I like how even with the arcade KI 1 being very playable via emulation on modern setups and virtual consoles, the snes port remains the preferred version.
>>12187962Never owned N64, nor a zoomer, but it had some gems (like DNZH and uhh... Jet Force Gemini?). Used to emulate it back in 00s because of small ROM file sizes making it easy to download.Fighting game wise the console was poor, but it had at least one exclusive gem: Rakugakids.
N64 has a number of 3D fighters, none of the caliber of VF or Tekken but still worth playing if you like the genre. Fighter's Destiny and Flying Dragon/Hiryu no Ken games are fun. Also, N64 has the only fighting game in the Super Robot Wars series: Super Robot Spirits.
>>12187525MK had combos before KI existed
>>12187519>One is a shittyly put together Mugen version of UMK3 with shrunk sprites and shitty music>When ported to the superior CD consoles, they fucked up the gameplay further and the music because made by European team>The other is a putrid poor port of an unfinished arcade sequelDid you knew KI2 has a FUCKTON of finished sprite animations that were not incorporated into the final game because KI2 was RUSHED!?, not that the imbeciles at TCRF would mention that.I swear to God there was a YouTube video that showcased all the missing sprites.
>>12187401I never forgave KI for getting rid of my main. It too like 20 years to set right
>>12188878>There's content that was decided to be left out >"OMG this game was TOTALLY unfinished and rushed!!!"I never understood this logic. If a game has a lot of unused content within the ROM or has earlier builds with elements that were left out/changed, then that means the opposite of being rushed: the devs had enough time to experiment and try different things until the final version
>>12188890I hope you're referring to Riptor and not Cindgay
>>12188878>When ported to the superior CD consolesPS1 version was made first
>>12188878>superior CD consolesneo geo CD didn't get a MKT port
>>12188893>I never understood this logic. They're whiteknighting devs who took too long. As it is KI 1 for arcade took so long it didn't even make it onto N64 as planned. You could blame it on the expensive hardware, but in retrospect it's faded into irrelevance while the "inferior" port has not.
