Is it just inaccurate? Because I've tried everything to make it sound like it should based on youtube videos.
I've got this set up.>Core MIDI mode set to LA>Installed MUNT>Downloaded MT-32 ROMs and installed for MUNT>Retro Arch MIDI output to MT-32 Synth >I've also tried CM32-L ROMs and modes in MuntBut I still get hollow sounding "beating on a barrel" sounding drums in the game no matter what I do. Is this just an emulation accuracy issue?
I finally fixed it! After two days of fiddling around, I installed a fresh copy of RetroArch and it just works! Why? I don't know! The settings are all identical as far as I can tell...

>>12188558you installed munt? You also need to set munt as the midi driver in retroar-->>12188613eh cool
>>12188558no idea how it works in retroarch but i downloaded this standalone emulator and it works fine there, well for the most part anyway. the loading screen has no visuals but it does have sound, which is weird but the game itself is fine. although wouldn't blame you if you didn't want a standalone emulator for just one game.https://mijet.eludevisibility.org/XM6%20Pro-68k/XM6%20Pro-68k.html
>>12188613RetroArch version updates actually do change things. It could have been broken on your older version even if you were using the most current PX68k core.
>>12188709>the loading screen has no visuals but it does have sound,That's normal behavior and how the game works on original hardware.
>>12188705what am I supposed to be noticing here?

Since I got the game working it really makes a difference. Highly recommended over the FM Audio.
You can earn arbitrary amounts of extra lives in the fourth stage by killing red skeletons over and over. About three extra lives per timer expiration.Whether this counts as cheating? Well, it's a very tough game.

>>12188558Say, did they get the original artist back for X68000?A lot of people assume the box-art Simon look came from the original key art, and while it's VERY similar, we don't get a good look of the front in the original box art. It's like the X68000 artist did a near-1:1 of the original design but from the front. I think the only real difference is that Simon's clearly wearing a fabric headband in the original, and his sword's on the other side. I just want to know if that's a good imitation of the original character design, or if it's the same artist who fulfilled his vision.
