I have never once watched any anime beyond ghost in the shell and akira and I did not think much of either compared to other animation like the 1978 version of LOTR. I did have a PS1 and have a couple of hundred games for it.

Super Famicom had better anime licensed games.
Dragon Ball, Ranma, Sailor Moon got some genuine fun games back in the 4th gen but in PS1 is nothing but duds, except for DBZ Legends (also on Saturn).
Saturn has better anime games than PS1 for sure as well.
PS1 does have Ghost in the Shell though, and it does have some other fun ones here and there but the bad ones are an overwhelming majority whereas on 4th gen it was more on the ok to good games range.
