I feel like maybe starting a new run of this game on the PS3 (so basically not finishing the PS2 save I've been chopping away at since my college years) but are there any mods that can make the game more fun? If I just start it over and everything plays out the same as the first time I might as well have just bit the bullet and figured out how to finish what I already started (I don't have a car I consider competitive enough to win the GT World Championship series).
do you have a wheel?
>>12206205Not any that are PS3-compatible. I have a couple of mediocre PS2 wheels.
What a weird thread

>>12206204you can sit on your couch upside down and then all the levels will be mirrored
>>12206204>are there any mods that can make the game more funSpec II is the remix you need if you've arrived at the conclusion that GT4 is dry
>>12206204>I don't have a car I consider competitive enough to win the GT World Championship series
>>12206204Does the driving in GT4 feel slow to anyone else? It has some of my favourite cars but the sense of speed feels off
>>12206825Feels less grippy than I'd expect.
>>12206825the gt games, especially 4 onward, don't use many flashy effects to give you a sense of speed. most games will pull the camera back or shake it and use some effects like depth of field and motion blur. gran turismo is pretty sterile in comparison also the sound design is ass in 4
>>12206825Have you tried playing in 1st person view. 3rd person view moves you away from the road so you don't see if going by as fast
>>12207284The most frustrating thing about GT4 is that all the cars sound the same, which takes away from the desire to drive them all
>>12207383Sounds like that Spec II mod does address that.
>>12206204>competitive enough to win the GT World Championship seriesget the Minolta, remember to buy all the race tire types
>>12206204The first couple of races in the GT World are mostly a lot more punishing on weaker cars than the rest. You can win on points with all kinds of garbage cars by getting 2nd-3rd in the races the AI race lines are decent in and then getting first on the ones where it sucks ass like El Capitan.
>>12209686The car I have isn't weak (it's that CLK race car), it's just trash to drive.
>>12206249>Enable/Disable Gran Turismo 3-style chase cameraI know there was that super-secret menu in the game that took ages to find that lets you do this but it doesn't save the settings when you modify it.
>>12209708DTMs and JGTCs are a step down from the LMPs almost everyone else in the world championship has and just plain can't reasonably win on the Super Speedway.
>>12209782Even with Stage 4 Turbos on the DTMs/JGTCs? Although I can't recall if the AI equip turbo parts on their own racing cars.
>>12206204get a wheel and pedals>>12206205fpbp>>12206217play it on a ps2
>>12210178There are all kinds of negatives to the stage 4s like flaying the tires, and in general I think you can't get similar downforce in the lesser racecars so you'll never corner at speed like they can either. If the race makes the AI lines bad enough you can outrace them in anything down to modded used cars from the '80s though - but that doesn't mean shit at the super speedway. If you get just the right lineup of opponents that do stupid things like pitting right before the final lap, maybe weaker cars can win.
>>12210178They don't have proper individual mods like you do but in some races they just get generic HP and gearing boosts (for example that Opel Speedster race). The GT World is not one of those though.
>>12209782I meant this one, though.Out of the box this thing is pumping almost 800 BHP.But it has terrible handling.
