I just bought this Atari emulator from a guy on craigslist. I paid $250, but he said it's an original heavy sixer (whatever that means) model from 1978. Plus it came with 12 apps and 2 joyrods.
I didn't get scammed, did I?

No, that means it's a legit Atari 2600 from back then. Heavy sixer means it's the old model with six switches in the front. In the later models they reduced it to four.

fpbp, barreling over OP's shit comedy routine
>>
>>12206458
Which 2 did they remove, the power and reset?
>>
>>12206475
No, the left and right difficulty switches.
>>
>>12206482
On mine the left and right were moved to little black switch things on the top instead of the big pin switches.

OP, what is the second game from the bottom left? It's washed out in the photo. Also the Spectravideo one is hard to read.
That's an odd set of games, somebody liked sports I guess. You in Europe? I see that weird European version of Grand Prix in there

My mom bought me one of these from a lady at her work with about 30 games for $50. That was in '89
>>
>>12206452
seems expensive but it's physical media so it's likely worth it, that was probably the guys' grandfather that had it as a kid and likely passed away.
But yes to install the app you have to Grab the plastic installer and insert it into the physical atari emulator you got. But these old emulators didn't have like memory so you have to install it and uninstall it everytime you want to play it.

They were still sold brand new then.
>>

lol
>>
>>12209217
Yea, but the tech by then was outdated, and it didn't have vintage status.

Do you even /vr shitpost?

looks like Wrestling Champions to me
>>
>>12206452
Be sure to add to your collection two of the best 2600 games ever made, Yars Revenge and Demon Attack.

Is that from EGM back in the day?
>>
>>12212302
It's from the UK magazine "Playstation Plus" but with the derisive message about people who say "PSX" shopped to say "Sega System" instead.
Amusingly the retard janitor deleted that post but not the thread itself which is yet another auster spam thread in disguise.

What's wrong with it? It's just a silly "look what I bought" post
>>
>>12206452
>it came with 12 apps
Were they pre installed?
>>
>>12206452
If you're that clueless about Atari you shouldn't have dropped $250 on anything related to it.
>>
>>12209217
And $50 was a lot of money. Very realistic figure for an aging video game system with 30 games.

OP stole his image and larps about being retarded to ease the fact he's mediocre
>>
>>12213937
Posting pictures of games systems is bad.

Imagine how fuming OP must be seeing how the mods abandonned this place but he's still homeless so he can't spam and can only make these occasional lone threads from his phone.
He could have filled the entire catalog and would have remained like that for an entire day before anyone would do anything.
