I don’t normally play many sim games but this was on sale and i figured i’d try it and i’m surprised how approachable it is for sim noobs. Anyone else have sims they enjoy?
>>12213153F117A Stealth Fighter 2.0
>>12213153Are you playing it with the realism levels lowered? Because Silent Hunter 3 is considered to be pretty deep and comprehensive.
>>12213212Yeah i’m playing on 0% realism lol and honestly that’s enjoyable enough for me, there’s still quite a bit to manage and everything. It’s nice for the hardcore people though you can go all the way if you want, and it’s good they gave lots of options and tutorials
>>12213214Well, in that case, there's a lot of sims out there with realism options. It's one of those things of the genre that are just assumed, like video and audio settings in a game, in sims there's always usually a slider/toggle for realism settings. Only the REALLY hardcore games don't have any, or have very minimal settings. I think the difficulty options for Dangerous Waters are very minimal. Submarine simulators are a genre unto themselves.
>>12213221It’s really neat how sub sims are almost like strategy games, you’d think you just float around and shoot shit but it feels more like a weird rts game
>>12213241Because a large aspect of it is navigation.
>>12213158Picked this up on GOG recently along with F-19. Those old Microprose sims were so good.
>>12213268Yep, and knowing when to plan attacks etc. i actually died when i mapped a route because i didn’t realize you could crash and die in port
>>12213153I fire up Il-2 Šturmovik 1949 from time to time... But playing with analog sticks on your controller just isn't that great. Joystick would be nice.
>>12213158nice
>>12213158Was oddly developed before the full details of it were fully known, so it weirdly as a cannon attached to it.
>>12213153I really like the NovaLogic "sims". Purists will dismiss these games, but underneath their arcadey action, they do have some surprising simulationist elements.
