This game is so underrated
>>
ok thx for letting me know
>>
>>12215221
t. always were a kidder
>>
>>12215219
it is kino, i enjoyed it a lot when i first played it
I still go back to the retsupurae lets play of it
>>
>>12215219
I had a... quality time with it
>>
>>12215219
zzz...
This game reminds me of that Jane's Addiction song Ted, Just Admit It...
Really gay how the devs tried to push it as transgressive, definitely a game made by people who don't really like games.
>>
>>12215304
It's certainly a game that insists upon itself but I love its juxtaposition of the claim that games cause violence alongside a hyper-violent caricature of American society. I also just adore games that have lots of weird optional/cut content and harvester is full of it.
>>
>>12215405
Yeah, I'm sure it's very amusing and stimulating for those who can't see the through ostensible intent.
>>
>>12215432
It's a funny game even if you don't care about what the developers have to say. idk what to tell you.
>>
Post the sex offender registry photo, don't be a pussy like OP
>>
I hear people talk about this game all the fucking time, it's by no means underrated anymore.
>>
>>12215549
That doesn't necessarily mean it's no longer underrated, just no longer overlooked.
>>
>>12215442
>idk what to tell you.
Self-evident.
>>
>>12215549
They probably saw a Youtube video about it and don't know it's been well known in the PnC scene for ages.
>>
I couldn't complete the game without using a cheat code to fix the ammunition glitch in the tower, so I'd say it's correctly rated. It's entertaining trash, like a good B-Movie, but let's not pretend we have a masterpiece here.

Also, you play as a real-life sex offender, which makes things a bit uncomfortable.
>>
>>12215219
It's hardly underrated. If anything I'd say it's pretty well known and even popular among the FMV and horror crowds. I'd probably put it as the second or third most well known (in the modern age) FMV game?

It's probably fourth most well known, after the two Phantasmagoria games and Gabriel Knight: The Beast Within.
>>
>>12215304
Harvester is one of the very few authentically transgressive games. It makes Postal 1 look like some totally weak bitch shit.
>>
>>12215632
>Postal 1
Did you play the original version or redux?
>>
>>12215627
I would consider it WAY more well known in the modern era than fucking Beast Within. Phantasmagoria is a bit more dubious.
>>
>>12215635
Not him but it doesn't matter. Postal pussies out at the last moment and Harvester goes way further.
>>
>>12215635
All versions don't let you shoot up kids in the school.
>>
>>12215632
>Harvester is one of the very few authentically transgressive games.

I halfway agree with you, but I think the cut-price production values prevent it from being truly transgressive. Yeah it has mumcest and all other depravities, but these things are depicted in a crudely cartoonish way. If I take out my pen and draw a dick on a public toilet wall, I'm being "transgressive" and sticking it to the man, but no one will care, because it's a substandard piece of work. And so it is with Harvester.

>americans are okay with a game like this but if a woman has large breasts it's immoral
>>
>>12215652
Based femanon, speaking out on behalf of women with large breasts.
>>
>>12215652
That's the case now, but not when either of those games came out
>>12215219
I really wanted to get into it but for some reason the cursor speed is slow as shit for me
>>
>>12215584
I've seen every person who talks about adventure games talk about it, I've seen every person who talks about horror games talk about it, every person who talks about old PC games talk about it, I've even seen multiple vtubers with huge audiences play it. Everyone knows about it, and it's also one of the many games from pre-2000 that you can buy on steam and gog.
>>
>>12215693
How do they rate it?
>>
>>12215693
>Everyone knows about it, and it's also one of the many games from pre-2000 that you can buy on steam and gog.

Stop shilling, Steve. I liked you better when you were just kidding.
>>
>>12215620
>It's entertaining trash, like a good B-Movie
That's exactly what it was supposed to be. It was a commentary on the violence in video games panic.
>>
>>12215632
If you're a midwit, sure. But safe calculated transgressiveness like Harvester's is just attention whoring with a too on the nose pseudo-moral lesson.
Super Columbine Massacre and KZ Manager top it by far.
>>
>>12215796
>It was a commentary on the violence in video games panic
It was an attempt to cash in on that, I think they hoped for a bigger backlash than they got.
>>
>>12215808
>It was an attempt to cash in on that
These aren't mutually exclusive. It is an enjoyable and goofy experience if you like this particular kind of humor. It works like a magnet on edgelords though.
>>
>>12215814
Yes, it's perfectly enjoyable if your IQ is below, say, 120.
>>
>>12215824
It's ok. We know you're very smart.
>>
>>12215838
It's all relative, I'm smart enough for some things, yet too dumb for others.
But, yeah, I can understand the intent behind media in order to detect real creative sincerity.
>>
>>12215868
Name a "smarter" game than Harvester. I'm down for a laugh.

I've never heard of KZ manager until now. Are any of these games fun, genuinely?

It kinda turns me on killing the girl at the end while she is on her knees in sexy lingerie and screaming with every cut

I have no idea what you personally consider fun. There are no games that aren't fun to someone or boring to someone else.
