>>12227913It's only like 10 games lmaohttps://www.reddit.com/r/emulation/comments/xeg3bc/i_finally_found_a_definitive_list_of_pressure/
>>12227923that list doesnt mention gran turismo so I doubt it has every game.
>>12227923Shit list. Doesn't count several racing games that use pressure sensitive buttons for throttle/brake
>>12227923mobygames' present list of pressure sensitive games seems to have 345 gameshttps://www.mobygames.com/game/attribute:294/include_dlc:false/include_nsfw:false/platform:ps2/release_status:all/sort:moby_score/page:1/
>>12227913I haven't played too many PS2 games so the only one I had legitimate trouble with was MGS3, because of the chokehold and stickup controls. In the end though, I was even able to get The End's camo by aiming at him from behind with square, then using the going prone animation to cancel aiming (he magically knows if you holster the gun instead), and aiming at him again from the front like you normally would.I bet other anons have similar stories of autistically wrangling the controls to make the game do what they wanted, I wouldn't mind reading them
>>12227923>>12228048i remember playing downhill domination like 20 years ago and the attacks were pressure sensitive. either i'm misremembering or it was a different bike game
>>12227923Shitty list, it doesn't mention Without WarningIt's not even a bad game, just the controls are fucking terrible. Hold R1 lightly to aim, press R1 hard to shoot. If you ever want to play this game, play the Xbox version instead since this works way better with proper triggers.
>>12227913>add pressure sensitive buttons>literally no games used this>all controllers ended dying because the mechanism responsible for it corrodes
>>12227913Get a DualShock 3
>>12228135I assume you're talking about the original Xbox? The face buttons are pressure sensitive, but if the buttons die it's literally unfixable because the pads are glued to the controller PCB and can not be replaced. The only game to ever require pressure sensitive buttons on the OG Xbox is like one minigame in DOA Extreme, and the only other titles to even offer it as an option are the other DOA games as an optional control scheme.
>>12228148>The only game to ever require pressure sensitive buttons on the OG Xbox is like one minigame in DOA Extreme,Silent Hill 2
>>12227930You are really meant to use sticks in old Gran Turismos, ever since the first one. You're a faggot if you don't.
>>12228135Playing GTA San Andreas and Metal Gear Solid 3 with pressure-sensitive buttons provides a different and more immersive experience. Totally worth it.GTA SA: trigger buttons for acceleration and breaking are very stupid.MGS3: trigger buttons for shooting, or for ready-weapon in MGS3, is also very stupid and ruins immersion. Using the Circle button's pressure sensitivity to control whether you kill or just hold the enemy (when grabbed from behind) is also great. It's like you are the one there holding a very sharp knife close to the enemy's throat and needing to be careful not to accidentally cut them (by pressing the Circle button too hard). The gaming industry pivoted from pressure-sensitive buttons because the low IQ mongrels are too dumb to figure how it works.
>>12228169>You are really meant to use sticks in old Gran Turismos, ever since the first one. They programmed a massive dead zone in the first two GT games, and the analog sensitivity in 3 wasn't too great either. I think they didn't get analog controls right until GT4, all the previous games play better with digital buttons.

>>12227913I got pressure buttons working on the non-QT versions of pcsx2. Couldn't get it to work on the QT and I saw that one fuck up the de-interlacing too>>12227923That shitty Reddit list doesnt even include The Bouncer, a launch game. Lmao indeed.
>>12227930>>12228187oh yeah?
>>12227923>Silent Hill 2 and 3What? I don't remember the controls having anything pressure-sensitive. I played through both multiple times.
>>12228253iirc tapping square does a light attack, pressing it does a heavier attack
>>12228253You didn’t beat the game.
>>12227913Just assign different buttons or use a pressure sensitive controller like the Dualshock 3 (all buttons except L3/R3 have analog input).

>>12228330Retro fighters has some>>12228361Problem with chinese bootlegs is many of them skip gyro or pressure buttons
>>12227913what is that like 5 games? the only ones of note are mgs2/3 and you can beat that game without ever using it and there's multiple versions of that game
>>12228253shows how pointless the gimmick is
>>12229120>retro fightersNTA, but I was considering the controller in that pic specifically for PS2 emulation but the triggers are apparently so sensitive you can't even rest your fingers on them. If there aren't any games where the pressure on L2/R2 matters, someone could make a pressure-sensitive controller with digital mouseclick trigger mode that would work perfectly with every PS2 game.
>>12227913works on my dualshock 3 machine.
>>12227923>Only ten games>MGS2>MGS3S

>>12227913there's an option in pcsx2 to dedicate buttons to emulate pressure sensitivity. played mgs2 a while back that way. then when i beat the game i realized i could have used actual pressure sensitivity the whole time since i was using a ps3 controller.
>>12227913Use a PS3 controller
Wooting keyboard, which is controversial in every gaming community, and PCSX2 for victory
>>12228330>Your only option is betting on used controllers that may or may not workJust buy a used one that says "working."
The worse thing about pressure sensitive buttons isn't even that, it's that it makes the padas unuseable for emulation because it often adds input lag. I wonder how people that complain about "input lag with emulation" actually use pads like that. Anyway if you have a convertor to use PSX/2 pads on PC, do the experiment, try a PSX pad and then a PS2 pad for the same game, you'll see.

>>12227913Do you not have one of those cheap ps2 to usb controller adapters?
>>12230390A DualShock 3 works fine too if you happen to have one
>>12229186I don't have it but maybe the Hunter fixed the triggers? It should work for PS2 if you're emulating. Or wait and see if Defender Pro is any better
>>12229812Better list, but still doesn't mention Enthusia, which has one of the more meaningful uses of the pressure sensitive buttons
this is a very specific use case but if you have a ds3 and you want to play mgs2 and mgs3 emulated try the ps3 hd collection on rpcs3. I couldn't for the life of me get pressure sensitivity working with pcsx2, think it actually is completely unsupported in current versions, but with rpcs3 it basically worked as I expected it to first try no problem.you do have to use this wrapper for the ds3 though.https://github.com/nefarius/DsHidMini
>>12227913Sara Lima is anyone wants to know, she was a comic book reporter for ComicVine (whiskey media) way back in the day. Doesnt have an online presence anymore.
>>12227923>plebbitGo back, and/or kill yourself.
>>12228213>The Bouncerthat's one of the games where you don't need them because you can just press a shoulder button and get access to the moves used by the face buttons. even then, why would you even play that dogshitass game? just watch the cinematics on youtube.
>>12228259I wasn't aware of that, I either used heavy attacks the whole time or just didn't notice if one was a light attack. So I guess it doesn't matter if it's pressure sensitive.>>12228264I feel like this is the wrong context to use that shitpost.
>>12230871mgs2 is pretty reasonably playable without pressure sensitivity. the only 2 weapons in the game where pressure sensitivity is required for them to not feel like shit are the 2 automatics rifles and they're basically treated as being interchangeable with pistol for damage dealing.the way all the other guns work is release, full press raises the weapon, release fires, pressure sensitivity is only for holstering and that function can be replicated by dropping out of first person and deequiping with the shoulder button.
>Use Software mode>Still has glitchesseriously tho, is this emulator's fault or not?
>>12229971the really sad part is you actually giving a shit about that
>>12231916Try ParaLLEl-GS on RetroArch
>>12228334arielle alexisI'd recognize that brick wall anywhere
>>12227913Use the analog triggers. I doubt your game requires more than two pressure sensitive buttons.
>>12227913What is this phenotype? Because I love it
>>12228149You only need the d-pad for that
>>12228179Would be cooler if it was interrogation/kill depending on how hard you press. But like everything in MGS3 it was half-assed and mediocre.
>>12228232Logicool?
the PS3 controller is perfect for this, i play all my PS2 games with my DS3s
>>12227923Forgetting gran turismo. It’s getting harder to play the more advanced races on the Deck without a dualshock controller
>>12227913For MGS3 I simply mapped the pressure sensitive Square and Circle buttons to LT and RT, it worked great.
>>12232229Mapping buttons to the analog triggers doesn't work as well as you think. Because the OG buttons aren't analog, they don't work linearly when mapped to analog inputs, so the sensitivity is all fucked. >>12232623Use the trigger sensitivity cheat this dude made https://github.com/CookiePLMonster/Console-Cheat-Codes/tree/master/PS2
>>12232589Its a bitch to find an original one in a working state tho
The pressure modifier option on PCSX2 doesn't even work kek feels like the emulator has gone backwards after that great step they made in the previous couple of years
>>12232779Lots of things haven't worked properly since the switch to qt. And if you try raising any valid complaints on the forums theres a faggot mod with a maurice moss avatar whose only job is to shut you down with snarky autism without addressing a word you said. We do have the LRPS2 fork now which seems to be moving in a better direction with its LLE renderer.
>>12233102>>12233102>We do have the LRPS2 fork now which seems to be moving in a better direction with its LLE renderer. But there's no way to configure a press modifier button on it, right?
>>12227913Just map them to the triggers
>>12233157We've gone over this already in the thread. It doesn't work that way. Try using the triggers on Enthusia or F355 Challenge and see how it goes, you'll be in wheelspin hell while locking the brakes in every turn. Pressure sensors =/= analog controls.
