What are your favorite 3D platformers that aren't praised, well-known titles (Mario 64, DK64, Banjo-Kazooie, etc.)? I'm particularly looking for fifth and sixth gen titles
>>
Alpha Waves
>>

I wonder if Jumping Flash devs played this game
>>
>>12231679
only bongs played it, it wasn't popular at all in the US and never got released in asia
>>
>>12231657
Pic unrelated? Everyone fucking knows Spyro.

I think Glover is unironically good. The N64 version at least, the PS1 port is terrible.

did you even read the OP? retard

Maximo should regularly be at the top of peoples 3D platformer lists, but it's sadly neglected.

I love Crash Bandicoot clones from the late 90s and early 2000s, mainly Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers/Quack Attack, Lilo & Stitch: Trouble in Paradise, Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase, Barbie: Explorer... all of them worse than Crash Bandicoot, but still decent and worth playing if you're into the style of 3D corridor/hallway platforming.

He worked on the PC port. The original was an Atari ST game by Christophe de Dinechin.

This is a nice one. For another Saturn 3d platformer, there's Ninpen ManMaru, but I think it's kinda just an average game (like most Saturn games)

>>12231657
Silicon Valley is pretty good too.

Mercury Meltdown is a pretty good puzzle/platformer. The Wii version has the tightest motion controls on the system, but the /vr/ version is on PS2 (I've never played that version)

It's not /vr/ but Super Sami Roll is an excellent gen 5/6-type pure platformer with buttery smooth controls that allow you to pull off some amazing movement tech.

>>12232021
I remember playing the demo that came with the Playstation magazine.
>>
>>12232021
This is overrated. Shit is boring as fuck. Game is carried hard by art style and everyone assuming it's like a 3D GnG (it's not).

Pac Man World
Jersey Devil
Gex 2-3
Rayman 2
Croc 1/2 (play PC version of 2 to use tank controls)

Not really platformers but then again neither is the Spyro you posted:
Toy Story 2
Blasto
Bugs Bunny Lost in Time
Muppet Monster Adventure

You underestimate Japanese devs. Because a game didn't release in Japan doesn't mean they wouldn't have played it. They seeked out this kind of stuff. When Nasir joined Squaresoft everyone there knew about him and his games, no they hadn't released in Japan.
>>
Bomberman 64 and Bomberman Hero on N64 are decent. They were fairly hyped up around release, and were well known during the N64's lifespan, but no one really talks about them in retrospect. Glover, Ape Escape, Rayman 2, and Pac-Man World are all similar, being big deals on release, but not as well remembered as Banjo/Crash/Spyro.

Like totally overlooked, slept-upon hidden gem of Spyro trilogy in your pic?

>>12235136
MediEvil is appropriately rated. I love it and it’s one of my favorites, but the platforming is easily the worst part.

Kingsley's Adventure is being mentioned from time to time - it's not fantastic but it's good enough if you have an evening to spare.

I'll also never understand the hate for Rascal - sure, it only has like one boss fight copypasted for entire game, but otherwise I actually enjoyed it as a kid, even with tank controls and above average difficulty.

I actually replayed it recently - the idea behind abilities is fine and the artstyle is okay, but man you can tell it's some cheap clone of Spyro 2 (a bunch of copypasted mini-games, enemy models are being reused with minimal changes across levels, very short OST even if it's good) and that's my least favourite Spyro game out of original trilogy so this isn't some biased bashing of Muppets game.
>>
>>12231657
Spyro 1.
People like 2 and 3 better but I just dislike the mission system! I hate backtracking, I hate alternative gameplay systems for mini games. I didn't like it in Mario 64 and Banjo series either.
But Spyro 1? You just plug and play, no distraction. Pure 3D platforming with no mini games and side missions or even cutscenes outside of beginning and end (dragons are fast and skipable) it's just THE most 2D platformer-like full 3D platformer. Just go ahead and beat levels, explore and have fun.

>What are your favorite 3D platformers that aren't praised, well-known titles (Mario 64, DK64, Banjo-Kazooie, etc.)?
The greatest 3D platformer of all-time: Mirror's Edge.

But from 5th and 6th Ape Escape and Chibi Robo are nice

Fuck off tendie
