I've bought and played LdL/Onion Games' stuff for years now and each time I play I say "man, this game is ALMOST good..." it's like Kimura et al. get soooo close to making a great game but fumble in some horrible way.In most cases it's because the game gets to a point where you need to perform split second actions in random, non-telegraphed spots in a way the game has not taught you up to that point, in order to trigger an event flag to finally progress the story (that fucking ufo hunt in Chulip...). This is where I, without a guide, give up.I enjoyed and beat Moon, Chulip*, Little King's Story (not quite them, but it's their best game lol), Contact... and even more recent stuff like Black Bird (pretty good actually), Brave Hero Yamada, and now Stray Children.
