The amulet itself is quite valuable, I estimate at least worth 0.5 HR on average (could vary between 0.39 to 0.56 HR depending on time during the ladder season, based on my calculations). What you need to understand is that the Tancreds amulet may only reduce magic damage by 1, but by reducing all damage by 2 it is actually reducing magic damages by 1 + 2, which becomes quite substantial. Many elite level players will use specialized items like this to hot swap if they find themselves against a magic wielding foe to grant them powerful advantages in battle.

Hence why later on they applied set bonuses to all of the old sets rather than all set items just being like magic items until you have the full set equipped.

>>12246385There used to be, but that was years ago. Might be able to dig it up in the archive. That crashing is strange. Maybe your discs are scratched or something cause D2 really isn't that hard to get running on Win 10/11. Make sure you run it in XP service pack 2, graphics wise DDraw seems to work for me and that's it really. You can make things easier for yourself by using D2SE if you want.

It gives you something like +75 MF which is more than you'll ever get from any combination of boots + amulet that isn't astronomical in price.

>>12245425The Paladin bug has been in the game since release, I imagine that they kept it in since it's one of those bugs that is basically ubiquitous with the game like Next Hit Always Miss. The Paladin was obviously intended to be a white male because he's the good guy, but there was an issue with the limited color palette having unusual effects in the pre rendered sprites. Very interesting bit of trivia, shame it's never getting fixed.
