How much replay value?
Why don't you play it right now, beat it, and decide whether or not you want to play it again?
>>12243285Because OP is a retard who has only ever gotten his opinions from 3rd parties
>>12243282Tons because there are multiple endings and a hidden Gamer mode. You need two controllers for the code the enable Gamer mode to work and some emulators and clones consoles do not allow it.
>>12243282For you, none. You have to play it first to get replay value.
Arcade version is better.
>>12243282It's short, accessible and not too tough. The kind of game you want to play again because you KNOW you can beat it in less than an hour but the game is going to make you work for it
>>12243282it's a shooter so it's pure memorization. one and done
>>12243467>Arcade version is better.Hard disagree. Like Ninja Gaiden, the home version got it right. They're both good though. Why can't Nintendo sell this game now? Because of the cartoon that most don't even know exists? If it's that, can't the Big N just pay them a pittance and be done with it?
>>12243491You have to put up with a lot of slowdown on the SNES version.
>>12243507There is that. But aside from that, I feel the home version just feels better. I like the arcade version, but it's got an unfinished vibe to it and the last boss is cheap.I've come close to 1CCing it, but then that boss forces me up to a dollar.
>>12243507That's the biggest issue, along with that trademark SNES input lag, and the music being dogshit in SNES version.
>>12243513>and the music being dogshit in SNES version.lol What the fuck, dude....It's better than the arcade version in the music department by far. It's not even close.Like Mercs arcade Vs Mercs Genesis, the home version is just more refined.Like the stealth bomber lever music? The home version stomps the arcade.
>>12243282This game and Lords of Thunder are the only shmups I ever liked. Don't know really why, I just kept replaying them for years and years. I guess it's because they have some sort of progression and score actually means something? Maybe. Still, almost 30 years later and I can still remember the enemy placement by heart. Thanks for reading my blog.
>>12243540Don't this game and Lords of Thunder both have health bars? The "1 hit and you die and lose all your powerups" shit always turned me off from SHMUPS
>>12243527FM sounds better than MIDI.
>>12243554This argument strikes me that same as vinyl Vs CDs. I like what I like and I don't care what format it is.
>>12243551Yes, they have a halth bar which in this game it varies depending on the pilot you choose. You get hit and you enter a danger state, any hit in this state will kill you. After a few seconds you get some of your health back.
>>12243282Pretty good. I 2CC'd it once. Play it every now and then. It is very challenging, especially in the later levels. You will need to do *a lot* of very tight maneuvering and dodging.
Stop liking Super Nintendo.Or else
>>12243285>>12243292>>12243405Based.
>>12243282it'll be a cold day in hell before I play a game that glorifies blue helmets
>>12245023Play Area 88 instead then.
>>12243605>2CC'd it onceYour mommies must be so proud
>>12245110Thank you, it was a good game, definitely challenging. One of the most difficult shmups on the SNES but fun once you get used to it's style..
>>12245023It actually has nothing to do with the UN, it's based on an anime called Area 88, about mercenary pilots. Due to licensing issues I assume, it was renamed in the US. Rare very good licensed game and also extremely rare very good licensed shmup but also rare Capcom shmup. All in all a unique game.
>>12243282replay my balls in your mouth tranny
>>12245023
>>12245127It's actually one of the easiest shoot'em up on the console, but it's a damn good game so it's always nice to play.>>12245035So I can only chose between playing as the new world order or nazis huh?
>>12245140Damn you google lens!, I was hoping you had custom drawn it.The FAMAS is a pretty sweet looking rifle, only made sweeter by putting a knife at the end of the barrel.
>>12245173Really? I thought it was quite difficult and that seems to be the consensus.
>>12245368>that seems to be the consensusWhere did you read this? The only hard part is the cave level ceiling boss. The game is a piece of cake outside of that part. No need to memorize patterns or anything.
>>12245563>The game is a piece of cake outside of that part. No need to memorize patterns or anything. Why would you just lie like that? Is it because you're online?
>>12245368They're a contrarian retard, anon.
>>12243527https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSFm_EaLRmQ
>>12243282just beating the game will be more than enough replay value unless you're a shootemup god. limited continues are built in replayability.
>>12245572That cave boss is a fucking bastard though, he's right about that. It has too much health.
>>12245368I've beaten it despite being shit at shooters and videogames in general and a quitter too
>>12245563>>12246034I agree. I'm bad at shmups and SNES U.N. Squadron is one of the few ones I managed to finish.
>>12245852>That cave boss is a fucking bastard though, he's right about that. It has too much health.Yeah I agree; you should try the cave boss on Gamer mode. It makes normal and hard look easy. It does indeed have way too much health.
>>12243507Oh no! Not slow down!
>>12247061Heh this. Slowdown is the silent helper of every old shooter player.
>>12245140based
>>12243507there's a fastrom hack for this
>>12243507you mean the cool matrix like moments that make everything more kino? people dislike that?
