I am having a lot of fun with Wild Guns ReloadedWild West but it has robots is a cool aesthetic
>>12251758Great games but it sucks that not a single frame of Annie's panties can be seen, not even in the remaster.
I love both the original and the remaster. I used to hold some of the best scores in the remaster back when I played it. If you like the remaster you should play the original, it's quite different and if you ask me more challenging: there are less enemies at once due to the smaller screen, but each individual enemy is more of a threat so you need to react faster.
what's with the fat woman though
I always thought it was a really fun game and I'm not sure why it doesn't really have any imitators
>>12253440It's an entire subgenre, the Cabalvania though admitedly there aren't enough games in that genre. It's funny how people call Sin & Punishment a "railshooter" though. It's also a Cabalvania.
>>12253440look for cabal shooters
>>12253454S&P has constant progression though, it's only cabal-like when the movement stops for mini bosses and bosses
>>12253470So does GI Joe but that's a Cabal
the giant machines are the best bosses
>>12253476Sorta, but S&P just has a lot more elements that really makes Cabal be just 1 of the many elements it has. You don't have platforming on GI Joe.
>>12253487the crab is the easiest boss, but it wins by being a big robot crab alone
Be sure to check out Great Battle V
>>12253454The important thing about the genre is that it's third person and you control your character independantly from the aiming cursor. You wouldn't say that Space Invaders is/isn't a SHMUP because there is/isn't scrolling.
>>12253505I wanted to like this but the difference in power after you die and you're not powered up is just insane for a game of this type and it makes the game such a slog
>>12253505>creatively bankrupt crossover slop with le heckin chibi graphics
>>12253534You convinced me, I will now stop liking a game that's relevant to this thread's genre discussion.
>>12253454Oh damn I didn't know the genre had its own name, I never really thought of s&p as being similar to wild guns but now that you mention it they do have some things in common, one of those things being that they're both fun as hell.
>>12253454I call them "cursor shooters," there's a few more like Nam-1975, Alligator Hunt, and (my favorite) Gamshara
>>12251758Would love it if they gave us a cute native American otokonoko instead of a hambeast.
>>12251758Wild Guns and Blood Bros were truly peak wild west fun alongside Sunset Riders.
Soundtrack is so goodhttps://youtu.be/3gmEdGNuuCM
>>12253505This and Great Battle IV are really good.
>>12251758Is there any afference between the difficulty modes in the original SNES game? I've tried them all out an they all seem identical.
>>12253437Plus size activist
>>12253604>I didn't know the genre had its own nameThat was a joke
