Doesn't Mario stomp enemies? Do people consider Mario a puncher ? Have I just now realized it ?
further proof.
Look at the way he jumps in the games. He has his fist up. When he hits blocks from underneath to open them, he doesn't headbutt them, he punches them.
>>12251942I run and stomp enemies. Rarely does punching blocks even come into play, especially when they are meant to be toads that Bowser cursed.
>>12251942Makes sense
Oh yeah?
Even the manual says he stomps them.
>>12251936He has always done both. Personally, even after growing up with Mario Bros. (mainly Atari 2600 version) and every mainline Super Mario game that followed it, I found it jarring when Super Mario 64 had him so clearly use his fists as a primary weapon. But still, even as a kid I knew that he was a brick puncher from way back. And also a fireball thrower and a hammer wielder and so on. He's just a sturdy, versatile workingman; he can do lots of different things.
>>12252587(Well actually, I guess he probably started punching platforms above him even earlier than he started stomping. But he did at least kick aside overturned enemies before he learned to stomp, I think?)
>>12252592Yes you knock them from underneath with a punch and then kick them away.
As you can see in the sprite sheet the fist even goes higher than the hat.
Is that a thing people say? I always thought he clearly punched the blocks when jumping
>>12252418>Look out for these immortal creeps!Kek, NOA used to have a sense of humour.
>>12252418People die when they are killed
he fucking punches blocks
